by rei_lied Online Now Mar 5, 2011 at 4:27 AM

Hi! It's my first time traveling to Iloilo and I'm task to make the itinerary for our trip. We arrive at Iloilo by 6am Sat and leave by Mon 4am. I was wondering if we can manage to have an Iloilo-Guimaras Trip? I'm really having a hard time making the itinerary. But basically here's my plan 1st day arrival at airport hotel/pension house check-in breakfast mini visita iglesia (San Joaquin, Miag-ao, Tigbauan) Lunch at Ted's City Sightseeing Villa Beach Dinner Tatoy's next day Guimaras trip back to Iloilo by night 3am leave for Manila feasible po kaya ito? May maisusuggest po ba kayong iba pang to visit or something? If we do make it to the Guimaras day trip, I don't know where to go, place to stay etc. Please help. Thanks.

If you are arriving that early in Iloilo City, I suggest you proceed to Guimaras. You can take a pumpboat at Ortiz Wharf which will take you to Jordan Wharf in about 15 minutes. As you get off the boat, you will be swamped by tricycle drivers, jeepney drivers and multicab drivers, all wanting to get you to charter their vehicles. It's your choice. Haggle with them or get advise from the Tourism staff. You will see the Tourism Sattelite Office at the Jordan Wharf; seek assistance for your IT and get free maps. If no one is at their office, you can either have breakfast at any of the eateries in the wharf while waiting, or take a jeep to the Provincial Capitol in San Miguel, then go to the Tourism Office. You can stay overnight in Guimaras and go to Iloilo City the following day. But if you have already booked a hotel in Iloilo City, you can still go to Guimaras for a day tour and go back to Iloilo City late afternoon.

I like Cyndy's plan! :) And from my own experience, I enjoyed the food and ambiance at Breakthrough better than at Tatoy's.
