Where to stay on Ilha Grande? Should I book now?

I am planning to spend a few days on Ilha Grande as part of a 3 week trip to Brazil in January. Is this a good time to visit the island? Will it be possible to find somewhere to stay at this busy time? Any tips would be much appreciated. Thanks
