A week waiting in Noumea

So I'll be hanging around Noumea for around a week waiting for a weather window to sail back to Australia. Looking for advice on things to do, places to eat such as cafes and bakeries and places to see before we haed off.

Hi Can anyone post an opinion about this island? My husband has a fixation on it since he came across some pictures on a travel magazine. We would take the kids along (5 and 13). Worth to go or better to choose another island on the Pacific? Thanks
