Hi! Will be travelling from igoumenitsa to Athens (return) in June and am hearing/reading lots of horror stories about the journey! Things like, the route takes you on very narrow mountain roads that have no barriers and huge drops, unsurfaced roads etc. The KTEL buses are said to be awful (no air-con, packed, dirty etc). Its been suggested we get the ferry from igoumenitsa to patra but that would be a last resort as my friend suffers seasickness. Also, flying is out! (pretty awkward!) Can anyone shed any light on the things I've heard (state of roads, KTEL or alternative company etc) I would be really greatful if so. :)
hello travellers:) does anybody know if there is a bus from igoumenitsa to ioannina after 20.00? or if there is a timetable published somewhere on the internet? thanks a lot for your help!! sarah
In june, i will be arriving in Igoumenitsa at 6am, and want to continue the same day to Thessaloniki by bus. Can anybody tell me where the bus station is in Igou, and roughly the fare. Thanks.
Does anybody know of budget accomodation in Igoumenitsa, i will have to stay one night. Also any further info as to when the KTEL website will be up and running. Also it is 5 years since I made the trip from Igoumenitsa to Thessaloniki, how is the Via Egnatia doing?
Could someone please tell me the frequency and cost of the bus between Igoumenitsa and Preveza. We intend to travel between the 2oth of May and the 6th of June. Thanks
How often do buses run from Thessaloniki to Iguomenitsa? Is there another place to find the schedule if ktel.org is not working?
Is it possible to hire a car in southern Europe and bring it across borders? I had hoped to rent a vehicle in Igoumenitsa in Greece, drive to Istanbul and then drive up to Bulgaria. Is any of this frontier crossing possible or legal?
