I'm in the early stages of planning a trip to Iceland and would really like to do some sort of hike. I'm not a novice hiker, but I'm far from an expert. I wouldn't mind doing a solo hike if it was on a very well marked trail or a group hike is an option too. The only problem I'm having is that it looks like most organized hikes don't leave until the end of June and I will probably be flying home around June 9th. Any suggestions? I'd be open to day hikes if that's the only way I can get some hiking in, but would really like a few day trip. Thanks! Laurel
You are too early? I've been to Iceland in early July and some of the mountain tracks had just opened. I suspect this may be the issue. We ran into rather snow covered areas in July and August. You are in Iceland after all.

Hmmm. I was hoping that I wouldn't be too early. I thought it was worth a try though. I'd be open to non mountain hikes too. Basically I'm just looking to do a 2-3 day walk through nature.
