Not a question but rather an alert. If any of you are heading for Iceland, the Int'l Airport has been closed due to a volcanic eruption between to of the glaciers in the Southland. Some farm have been evacuated. A 120 mile radius of airspace has been closed. This is not a normal volcano type erupion but rather a crack in the earth about one kilometer in length. Icelandic papers report that there is some concern that the crack may extend under the glaciers. Airport closure will likely be a short one, while they are assessing the potential danger. Flights from the US have been returned to the States.
International airport has reopened this afternoon and flights from the US are expected in Iceland tonight. The volcano is under emergency watch but there is no danger to anyone at the moment.
