Hello again my friends,
I found that the only way to visit this cave is by taking a guided tour from Akureyri for 200USD.
The cave tour is only 1 hour. To me this sounds too expensive 
.
Are there other alternative ways to visit the cave without spending a few hours on the bus (and maybe cheaper)?
Any other intersting caves that you could recommend (not necessarily in this area)?

I think that this is longer than 1 hour. I have never visited it but this is what I found by a quick search on the net. I know that saga travel is from Akureyri and experienced company. Their trip is 4,5 hours. sagatravel.is/en/all-tours/d...
You have many things to see and visit in the region of Myvatn (geothermal phenomenon, Myvatn lake and bird life, volcanoes, geothermal pool, lava fields...) you can hike as well. You can also contact Alkemia if you like hiking. They know the area really well (there are from there) but I don´t know if they offer tours to caves.
