Hello everyone! Looking to take 10 days in Algeria in January. I know there is a daily sleeper service from Oran to Béchar, but I have a few concerns about it based on what I have read.
-First and foremost, it appears to be hard to get tickets; I'm basing this on a French language Algerian news clip I found on Youtube that appears to be from this year. The impression I have is that you need to buy tickets on the day at the station and that it is often sold out. I am happy to buy them in person in advance (In Alger or Oran) if it's possible, and plan on traveling first class. Would any of this be a problem? (video here: youtube.com/watch?v=B0WTC3nR...)
-Second, it looks like trip takes 10 hours overnight... but that there is no real food service. Is this the case?
Not terribly concerned about climatisation (as it will be winter) or cleanliness for one night if it gets us where we need to be.
tl:dr - What's the deal with the train from Oran to Béchar?
Thanks in advance!
