I could sure use some advice. I'm in my later 50s and a few times each year I visit my company's Hyd office which is about 2 miles from the Manohar hotel at the old airport. I hear the new airport is about 20 miles outside of town. How much time should I plan in my schedule to travel from the new airport to the Manohar, (or to the old airport)? Thanks so much! :-) Datojow
Hello, You would take anything between 45 minutes to 1 or 1 1/2 hours. It depends on the time and the traffic at that time. There are buses plying from the airport that have a flat rate of 95 Rs..These stop at specific places in the city. They are very convinient and are available every half an hour from 5.30 a.m. to 11 p.m.,after that they are available every hour.Just google search on New aiport at hyderabad. Hope this helps, Vpas

The Manohar, if I am not wrong, is in Begumpet and that was where the earlier Airport was. New Airport is in Shamshabad and is definately outside city to some extent. If u want to reach your hotel it will take around 1hr to 1.5hr depending upon the traffic which substantially increases during peak hours (8:30 to 10:30AM & 6:00 to 8:00PM) and rest is luck. Lot of Radio Cabs are available at Airport itself. If, I remember, they charge somewhere around INR15 per KM and will take u to your destination. For complete location details, u may visit official site of Hyderabad Airport at http://hyderabad.aero/index.html and map may be visited at amitbhawani.com/Images/R/Raj... This map also provides transportation facilities available from New Airport. For further information, u are welcome. Keep Smiling Vivek Dadu

Hi Vpas; Thank you for the your help. I imagine there are plenty of people like me who are disappointed in the greater travel times associated with this new airport. But change usually comes with some temporary discomfort. I'm looking forward to seeing the airport on my next trip Best wishes Datojow
