IDo you know of any mass transportation from huntington beach to downtown LA? Or even LAX? It seems the cab/shuttle price is about $80 each way. Bus? Rail? Or possible cheaper service?
I've read about the RV camping site at Huntington Beach. Is it a pleasant place or do you get the feeling that you camp in the parking site of a mall? Can anyone recommend a camping site in the greater Los Angeles area, that is within walking distance from the sea? Thanks, Benny

Hey, I've tried google-ing 'Huntington Hostel' and i've found a place called Colonial Inn Youth Hostel Hotel However, looking through the various hostel sites, i can't find it. It's site does not load either. Is this hostel still open? If not, can anyone recommend a 'cheap' place to stay in the area for two nights. I'll be hitting the area in early September. Thanks in advance. Yoz :]
Hello there! I'm from the UK and I'm travelling around california this summer, I'm staying in huntington beach for 4 days and can't wait!!! Has anyone ever stayed at the 'huntington surf inn'. That is where i am thinking of staying, and wanted some opinions. Also if you've got the time, where's the best places to go out at night, i'm 24 and looking for a good laugh! Thank you Sarah xx

Hi- some girlfriends and I are hoping to visit the area in mid-June. We have our hearts set on spending some great time on the beach, and are just unsure of our best options. We are thinking of staying at the Hilton Beachfront, which would be very expensive but right on the beach (I think). Our other option would be to stay at an inland (i.e. cheaper) hotel and drive to the beach, but don't know what the public beach options are. Are there public beaches that offer chair rentals? Does anyone have any other tips? Thanks!
We are going to Huntington beach in July 2 adults and our 16 year old daughter and are thinking of staying in the Huntington Surf Inn as it is close to the beach and restaurants. Can anyone give me any information on this motel the main thing I need to know is if it is clean and good value for money. Any information would be great as we have only seen a couple of pictures on their website
does anyone know how easy it is to get a part time job there during the summer? barman or shop assistant or something?

Hi, all. Question .. I am heading to Huntington Beach for the marathon in Feb and will be flying into the L.A. airport. I'd like to avoid renting a car if possible, since I'd only need it to get to and from the airport. Is there is a bus route or similar from the airport to HB? Or if not, how much can I expect to pay for a taxi ride? thanks! --Elizabeth
Hey all I originally posted in the long beach forum but have decided to take my vacation to Huntington beach instead :) Anyway, I'll be going from the 20th of October - 25th and staying in a hostel I think. Im mainly going to relax, get my head clear and do some writing (which i do a lot), but I wanna get as much in as possible so are there any things I HAVE to do when in HB? Thanks Sam
Going to Huntington Beach next month and we are looking for a beachfront hotel/motel for under100 a night. I've seen a few advertised, but we want somewhere safe and clean (no roaches!). Can someone give a recommendation on any of these or someone I've not listed: Huntington Surf Inn Huntington Beach Inn Surf & Sands motel Beach Comfort Motel Best Western Huntington Beach (looks the nicest out of those I've listed, but also the most expensive).
