Thanks, DSwede for your info. I don't understand the part about going to town of Danang. If our boat arrives at Danang water port and we only have 10 hours, do you recommend going to Hue or city of Danang? Is it correct the bus ride from near Danang airport to Hue is two hours each way? How far to Danang and how do we get there? Our goal is to maximize our time as tourists. When we get off the ship at 7:00 a.m. we want to go,go,go. Thank you again.

Hi all, I just realise the bridge across the river to the citadel is huge! Not something you can easily walk across from the city centre. Are there busses to the citadel and how much would they cost ? Where can I take them ? Also , what's the current reasonable rate of hiring taxis cyclos, etc ? I'll be staying at the Tha Binh 2 hotel, anyone travelled there by bus before ? and where can I take the bus from the city centre back to the airport ? thanks much , this will make easier in case it rains, or I get too tired of walking. cheers! E
Hello!! Planning a trip to Hue and was wondering if anyone can help me plan the places to visit in Hue. We are a group of 6 adults and would want to go around by ourselves so that we don't need to be rushed instead of going on a packaged tour. We will be in Hue for 2 nights then we move to Hoi Ann for another 2 nights before heading back to HCM. Are there any not to be missed places? We are interested in historical and adventure type of activities. Do you think it is better to hire a car/van to take us around on specific places of interest? Also, are there any places between Hue and Hoi An that we can pass along when we move to Hoi An? Your inputs will be highly appreciated! Best, Jekie
If I rent a bike, is it OK to ride it in and around the Citadel and Forbidden City? If there are areas that are off-limits to bikes, can they be parked and locked safely somewhere? Also, I read from a guide book that one could bring a bike aboard the boats that ply the Perfume River so you could ride off to some of the temples along the banks. Is this true and feasible? Thanks for any replies.

Hi there, I know this is a really long shot but my husband and I (Jim & Rachel Brindley) left our honeymoon cd in the CD drive room 12 at the 'Thai Bihn Hotel'10/9 Nguyen tri phuong, Hue (opposite cafe on thu wheels). We have tried calling them and emailing but think language a bit of a barrier. The Photo's are of Sikkim (north india)-written on CD. This was a while ago now but still desperately hoping! Please let us know if you are staying there or planning to. If someone can help us perhaps email pictures we will try to repay you somehow. Thankyou!!
Hi everybody! My husband and I want to spend two nights in Hue at the end of november. Does anybody stayed in Green hotel? We have a good offer to stay, but we don't know if this is a good hotel (location, services...). Our other option is Saigon Morin hotel; it cost a little bit more, but we have good references. What do you think? We would appreciate any advice. Thank you
I plan on arriving from Hue in the morning (8:30AM if I can catch the 7PM night train from Hanoi) and leaving for HCMC the next morning. Is this enough time to visit the important sights in Hue without feeling rushed?
