I am not too sure if these is the right place to find a traveling companion. I have a good friend, partially blind who has free accommodation for 8 days (starting 22 June 2013) inside the Santuario in Lourdes, France. She is looking for a femaile companion to qualify for this free accommodation.
As I said, its a femail , around 58 years old. She is very dependent and lovely Asian . Before she started losing her sight she worked as a journalists. Thank you for giving me the opportunity putting this on VT. God Bless you all!
Hi, I am planning a trip for a few months time, looking for a place to stay that is close to the beach at Crosby for Anthony Gormley's 'Another Place' installation and within spitting distance of a train station for transport into Liverpool city centre. Can anyone help with some suggestions?
Many thanks ...
I would hate to drive round the china clay area, near St Austell, not know where the best vantage point was for photographs. I have looked at some spectacular photos in books but they don't say exactly where they were taken or if there are any access restrictions. Can anyone help?
Also, is there more than one access road (gate) to the Eden Project or does everyone have to approach from the same side?

I have an 8 hour layover between two long haul flights (11am-7pm). I am arriving in/leaving from T5. I would really like to take a quick shower during this stop over. l know that there are hotels landside and airside (T3) as well as lounge options.
My questions is: what is the easiest option? Will I even be allowed to go from T5 to T3 airside (and what would that entail-- ie trips through security, time, etc). Alternatively, how much of a hassle would it be to go landside? Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated! Thank you!
I am an American flying from Amsterdam Schiphol to Heathrow on a British Airways flight, then going from Heathrow to Boston on a KLM flight, therefore I do have to change terminals. I do not plan to check any baggage. Will I still have to go through immigration? The website did not specify. Thanks!
Hello, I am wanting to take advantage of the shops in terminal 3, in particular MAC (after security), before moving to terminal 5. Can I do this? I also want to use No.1 lounge in terminal 3 prior to transfering to terminal 5 - is this possible?
Hi guys, my parents are flying over here from Canada and I thought a trip to the Lake District might be nice...however I've noticed that trains with East Midlands only go to either Bootle (Cumbria) or Oxenholme...which seem about an hour drive from the National Park. Do you have any tips on how to get closer to the park? Any recommendations on where to stay?
Thanks so much!
Hi All. We will be cruising from Dover in July. Will be parking my car at the docks. Just wondering how far are the main tourist attractions in Dover before boarding the ship. Any local pubs around docks recommended before paying the steep cruise prices on ship :-) Any real local places to see?, thanks
All suggestions appreciated in advance
I apologize for re-posting this question but I am a newbie and I don't know how to remove my first question.
I don't think that I was very clear in that query. Please let me try again. I am landing on a BA flight at LHR Terminal 5 on Sunday mid morning. A friend, who is also flying BA, is expected to arrive at LHR Terminal 5 a couple of hours later.
Is there a comfortable place (with luggage in tow) that I can watch the screens to see the status of her flight and wait for her to clear customs we can then meet up so we can then proceed to the Heathrow Express?
Thanks everyone for your patience!
We will be staying in Morcambe for a night mid July, before taking the Heysham Ferry to Douglas,Isle of Man.We will have a car. We would appreciate some suggestions as to sights, both in and near this town to see. We will be driving from York.On a previous holiday we spent a few days in around Keswick,Windermere&Bowness..as well as Ingleton. We enjoy walking, nature,as well as history.
Is there a Scenic Route to drive that we can use to reach Morcambe from York?
Thanks for the Forum's help .
I am arriving into Terminal 3 at Heathrow on an international flight. I would like to clear customs, pick up my bag, then go to the United Club Lounge prior to leaving the airport. Is this possible, or is the lounge only accessible within the terminals?
Hi ! We are two active 60 yo..we will be walking Hadrians Wall Path, after spending time in Newcastle, before catching public transport to our start in Whitley Bay. May we have some suggestions for Must See,visit ,explore places...reachable by public transport? Also,is it better to catch train to Whitley Bay, or is the bus service better? We will be staying in the Jesmond park area. Thanks for all suggestions
Evening all. How would you get from Shrewsbury to Ironbridge (and back) by public transport, on a Saturday, in June? Or on a Sunday? I'd like to do a day trip on one of those days. I guess Saturday would be easier. Thanks. L
Other VT's have advised to purchase Eurostar tickets in advance for trips for example London Brussels changing to Amsterdam. How much time in advance is recommenced to get a good price? We are now looking at 3 months from now/May 26st. Also there are 4 seniors traveling together, if that makes any difference. In Brussels changing trains to Amsterdam, there is 15 minutes between trains, does that seem like enough?
Thanks to all in advance, Chuck
