Can anyone tell me what one to take. It is located under the Canal Road Flyover in Wanchai. And what number stop to get off... they are numbered differently going East than going West. Thanks.

Back To HK...Where To Stay Cheaply ?

by soundchaseruk Online Now May 17, 2012 at 11:19 AM

In October 2007 I stayed in what I thought was a nice place...Chungking Mansions. !!! After all the research I did, I still got it wrong, but what an experience. So now I return to China and HK. Where do I stay is the BIG question...without spending lots of cash. Is the Mirador Mansion better than Chungking ? Are there smaller cheap places to stay ot found on the internet? OR should I stay in the New Territories (is that a cheaper option??) and travel in ? I paid £15 a night (150RMB in Chinese) a night at Chungking. Can i pay that amount again but somewhere nicer ? Any help would be great. I return to HK around the 11th October

Hi there, my husband and I are planning a trip to Hong Kong and"somewhere else" in early november. Questions are:- Whats weather , where should we stop, what shall we see ( wife shops like crazy but hates malls and we have been to disney in usa). Planning on about 3/4 days then need an idea of where to go for a beachy/lazy type place. Borneo was suggested by a friend( he has never been but likes orang utangs so not sure if his idea is any good). We are in our late(very) sixties so nightclubs are a no no. Would be grateful of any suggestions. Cheers

      Hong Kong to Guangzhou

by spacedust Online Now Jan 7, 2012 at 8:43 PM

Hi, I will be in Macau on work in early February. I have 2 days to spare post that. Was wondering if it makes sense to make a quick dash to Guangzhou. I have 3 questions (if someone can help answer) 1) How long will it take to go to Guangzhou from Hongkong or Macau (a high speed train would be preferred) 2) Is Guangzhou a city/region rich in culture/architecture? I wanted to see China some day and was wondering if Guangzhou would live up to the idea the world has of Ancient/Old/Rich sultured China 3) Is Guangzhou better than Shenzen for the above I do not want to go to pick rip-offs, pirated CDs, electronics, theme parks or fake Fendis. I want to see & experience China - and yes, I know its not Beijing. Just trying to make the most of an opportunity Thanks Francis

by iamtravelling Online Now Jan 2, 2012 at 1:06 AM

Hi, I will be in Hong Kong in the second week of Jan 2012 for 2 days. Could you suggest me some budget hotels around Hong Kong Island or Hong Kong. I would be spending most of my days outside, so I dont really need the best hotel. A neat and clean hotel with a nice bed and bathroom is all I need. Do you any hotels of this sort with minimal amenities. Would appreciate if you could suggest me some important places to see around. M not gonna go to the Disneyland and dream about fairies later. ;) Cheers :)

Yung Kee Roast Goose and other HK Foodie delights

by petertktan Online Now Oct 8, 2011 at 10:49 AM

My wife is a big fan of Yung Kee's famous Roast Goose on Wellington Street in Central, I believe there is a Coach boutique next door. My question is, does anyone knows where to find a restaurant that serves roast goose better than Yung Kee?? We are also into authentic and famous HK food delicacies-can someone recommend some nice eateries-we are interested only in the most well known ones and the place can be a street stall no problem as long as it tastes good! Thanks!
