Starbucks limits the time one may use their free wifi to about 30 minutes to an hour. I bought a 3 day wifi card which was fairly inexpenisve.

You can also find free wifi at certain public places (some are close to tourist attractions) that is offered by the HK government. Here's the list: gov.hk/en/theme/wifi/locatio...

Hi, Thank you all for taking the time to reply. I do know about the free government service I used it around the Tsim Sha Tsui clock tower last year, but I really need the connection for my hotel. I am interested in the China Mobile sim and YVR what is this 3 day wifi card you bought?

All the local network carriers do have some sorts of deals, which one to choose depend on how much and how long you need internet access. Check China Mobile, Smartone, one2free, Three.com, etc.

I bought the card at the local 7/11 store. There are tons of these all over. I think they had 3 or 5 day cards and again they were resonable in price. Seemed liked the 5 day card was the best seller as some stores could not keep them in stock very long. I sat in a nice park across from my hotel and could access the internet just fine. I found that I could not access it from my hotel room as the wifi the hotel was offerring seemed to knock out my signal. I will definately buy this card again if my hotel does not offer free wifi.
