    Hello.

For sightseeing: the peak is great, then lantau island for giant buddha and go for Tai O fisherman village
For shopping, both Kowloon( Tsim Tsa Tsui, Mongkok, Yau Ma Tei ) and Hong kong island ( causeway bay ) and you can find alot of the local cantonese food like dim sum along the way.
For seafood, temple street then north point also great
For nightlife, you can go for Lan Kwai Fong.
Hong kong is easy to explore, you can read a lot review from VT members then can arrange your schedule based on your main point you would like to do .
    have a nice traveling

    Hello,

Due to it's excellent transportation system and the fact that Hong Kong's districts are quite compact and walkable, Hong Kong is VERY easy to navigate on your own.
Secret lies with staying in a central location.
    I suggest Kowloon Park area.
We always stay at the BP International hotel.
There is a main Metro line just outside of the hotel.

From here you can easily explore on foot Ladies market, Nathan Road, Kowloon district, shopping, dining, Avenue of the stars, etc.
You can *hop* across the bay to Victoria Peak and Aberdeen to the not to be missed "Floating Jumbo Restaurant".
By jumping on the metro you can explore further including Lantau Island and even Disney Park.

Part of the fun of Hong Kong is simply getting lost in it all and exploring.
Do not fret, if you get tired or no longer feel like walking, hail an inexpensive cab and return to your hotel.

    You will love Hong Kong!

    Forgot to add:

If you still feel like exploring the city with a guide, there are plenty of tours you can organize either on your own or via the hotel once there.
These tour options range from the red bus tours which give you a spin around the city to a harbor tour (highly recommended) where you can go out and see the lights and the skyline.
Also recommended, a junk boat tour. These are the famous boats with the red sails popularly photographed against HK's skyline.
These only run on certain days of the week. You'll have to inquire.

Hong Kong is very easy to get around. Buy yourself a stored value octopus card. You can use this on the MTR, buses, minibuses, ferries. The MTR is very straightforward and has signs in Engish and announcements in English. All stations have local area maps, too.

You can get most places by MTR. Use busses for the south of Hong Kong Island or the Peak. Place names in English displayed on front.
