My 16 year old daughter and I will be travelling to Hong Kong in early July 2012. We are keen to see some pandas. Has anyone done the Panda Experience at Ocean Park and was it good value? Alternatively, I believe there are pandas in Macau or we could take a day trip to China where you can go to a safari park. Any suggestions? Thanks, Glenda
Ocean park is quite big and you would use the better part of a day to walk around it. Check out their website for feeding times. It's part amusement park / part zoo m.oceanpark.com.hk/html/en/c...

Ocean Park's exhibits are world-class. There are various shows at different times during the day, so it's better to plan ahead. There are two separate areas for pandas, and one can spend a long time watching them. The new huge aquarium is also nice and so is the jelly fish exhibit.

Hi, I was at Ocean Park to see the panda's in March 2012 and was a wonderful experience, very close to them and got loads of fantastic photographs. Well worth the visit!

Hi Glenda, As a previous poster mentioned, Ocean Park is great. If you are keen to see the Pandas actually move (Pandas spend a ridiculously large part of their life asleep) then as before mentioned, make sure you check out the feeding schedule. I wanted to emphasis that they generally do very little unless they are feeding. Ocean park also has some other interesting wildlife exhibits although I have to admit that the main show of dolphins jumping through hoops is a bit average (in my opinion) and always packed, so if you do want to see it get there early. Your 16 year old daughter and perhaps yourself might also enjoy the medium/high octane rides that are on the peninsular part of ocean park as well. I guess top advice would be: pick a weekday as it gets very busy on the weekends and make sure you get there for feeding time. A great day out.
