Transit in HK 14 hours. Hotel Recommendation Requested

by cochinjew Online Now Feb 6, 2012 at 4:14 AM

I am arriving at HK after a very long trip via USA, at 9 15 pm. I have a flight at 11 am the next morning. What convenient hotel would you recommend. easy to reach by transport and get back to the airport. No problems with Visa etc.. Thanks/Gracias

There is a Regal Airport Hotel and there is a Novotel in Tung Chung. The airport hotel you can walk to from the airport. Get to Tung Chung in around 10-15 mins by bus S! from airport. tung Chung has a large public swimming pool, shopping centre, restaurants. It is also on the MTR underground line. You can reach Hong Kong Station/ Central in 25 mins from here.

to know what kind of hohtel there are, their prices and reviwes I suggest to seach "Chek Lap Kok, Hong Kong" into www.booking.com and you'll have also distance from airport and map BTW Yotel in NYC is at Midtown and not at airport, any there are better and confortable places at same price :) I'll never go back there!

Are you using the same airline throughout? If so, you should check with your airline to see if they have any policies for long layover. I got a free hotel room when I had a 14 or 15 hour layover at Seoul from Asiana airlines. I asked at the transit counter and they said i could get a free room, but I declined it as my layover happened during the day and I would like to get out to explore the city. But for you, you'll be better off getting that hotel room (if it's available to you).

Unfortunately, I am arriving on United at around 9 30 pm and leaving on Malaysian at 8 30 am. I may have to use a hotel nearby with easy access to the airport. Most of the airport lounges are closed after midnight but Paid Lounges are open. For ten hours including shower and hot meals and drinks it is about 75 usd. I will be landing after a very long flight (from Miami via Lax, HNL). By noon next day I will be in KL and can rest there at a nice hotel for one day.. It is a pity not to be able to enjoy the various stop overs en route...I would love to get to know HK, where I felt more comfortable than I did in SIN on my previous visit. Hotel prices in both SIN and HKG seems to have skyrocketed in the past few years. Thanks for your reply Mim..

Regal airport hotel at HK is where we stayed. Good accommodation, but far from cheap. Good buffet breakfast though for a reasonable price.

You might look at the Marriott, which is close by, very nice but pricey.
