My ancestor (Hans Gander) came from around Jagersburg; specifically from an area once known as Hans Weiler in the late 1600s-early 1700s. I am trying to plan a visit to the area in the next year or two and would like to stay in Jagersburg for a few nights. Are there any places to stay in Jagersburg? I've only found hotels/guest houses in Homburg. Any help would be greatly appreciated!! Thank you for your time!! -Steve
Jägersburg is a suburb of Homburg. It has its own homepage, www.jaegersburg.de. If you cannot type the Umlaut - the dots above the U- type UE instead, it means the same. Simply dropping the two dots can lead you to a completely different place. I only found two holiday apartments in Jägersburg, but it's such a small place that staying in Homburg won't be too far. Will you have a car? This will help you getting around. cms.jaegersburg.de//index.ph... is the page for tourists, as you can see, there is not much and it's all in German. The links for the apartments are in the left hand corner, called FeWO. From this page museum.jaegersburg.de/Geschi... it looks like Hansweiler was one of the former names of Jägersburg. Good luck with your research. Let me know if you need more help.
