Is anyone familiar with the above hotel please? We're in town for 2 nts only to see/visit 'the Strip'', Universal and WB Studios. All the hotels on the beaches seem to be very expensive. Is this an ok location?
We are four women in our 40s and early 50s who plan a trip to Los Angeles in the spring. We are hoping to secure Ellen Degeneres tickets to one of her tapings which is in Burbank. We would also like to see the usual....Walk of Fame, Grauman's Chinese Theatre, Universal Studio, etc. We are actually looking at renting either a condo or house in that area, rather than hotel rooms. It's a less expensive alternative but we have not yet booked it. What I need to know is - is this area, Hollywood/West Hollywood safe? I've heard that very little is walkable and that you either need a car or perhaps a car service to get you from point A to B. Is this correct? Is so, does anyone know of a reliable and affordable car service? In doing my research and reading about Hollywood, it sounds like it may not be the best place to stay but I'm not sure where alternatively would be best for us considering some of the activities we'd like to do. BTW - we will only be there from Sunday, leaving first thing Thursday. Any help or suggestions are most welcome. Thanks!
Hi, We will be staying at the Holiday Inn Walk of Fame in Los Angeles for 3 days. Just wondering if anyone can tell us how to get there from LAX using public transportation and how easy it is? Thanks
I have been researching the best places to get a photo of the Hollywood sign, not just a zoom job from a distance but a location where I can take a pic of myself and wife in front of the sign so the sign stands out pretty clear in the picture. I have been told about the Griffith Observatory, 3000 and 3116 Canyon Lake Drive, Hollywood and Highland Center, 3384 Deronda Dr. Los Angeles. Because I won't be driving in Hollywood, would asking a taxi driver to take us to any of these places be the best thing to do? or would the taxi drivers know the perfect spots? I don't really know. Thanks
A while ago, I found a post where someone found the perfect close up spot to see the Hollywood Sign. Unfortunately, I cannot find the post I am looking for. I have been to Hollywood before and see the sign from Muholland Drive, but this time want to get closer. What are your secret places for up close views of the sign? Thank you!
Hi everyone We want to stay in Hollywood Orchard Suite for a few nights and wondering what it is like around that area. Some people say it is dangerous around that area, but I believe if we use common sense, we will be fine. I think there is a risk where ever you go, but I want hear it from someone who live there or who travel there frequently. Is there anything we need to be concern about? Thanks. Ireland.
I recently booked a room at the Grafton and am attending a conference at the Hyatt in Century City. Is there an easy public transportation route to get me to and from the conference every day?
Hi! I will take the flyaway bus from LAX to my hotel - Holiday Inn Walk of Fame at 1921 N. Highland Ave. I just want to make sure that this location is nearest at Hollywood/ Highland stop and not at Hollywood/ Vine stop. Thank you for your assistance!! asalvador

Hi I am planning my trip to LA in March. Will need 3 day accomodation in Hollywood area. Does anyone have any suggestions? - clean and decent budget accomodation less than USD 100 incl of tax - free parking or minimal rate - near to Metro as we plan to leave the car in the hotel while we explore Hollywood We plan to rent a car (drive to San Diego and Disneyland later part of the trip), but in Hollywood, plan to take the Metro around instead. Please let me know if this is a good idea. Thanks!

Hello. I will be in Hollywood for 5 days at the end of October. I am very outgoing and looking for some fun things to do. Any recommendations? Cheers!
I am planning a trip to California in October, and my initial plan was to just visit Disneyland, but now it has changed and includes Universal studios and Hollywood as well. 2 Days Disneyland + 1 Day Universal + 1 Day Hollywood I am going for 4 full days (5 nights). Now I need some pointers on what would be the best thing to do. Where to stay? Original plan is to stay in Disneyland for 4 days, and on last 2 days take bus to Universal, and one day to Hollywood, but maybe it would be best and cheaper to stay in LA and travel both days to Disneyland and… Any suggestions? Thank You…
Hi my name is Jenn. I am from Columbus Ohio and I have never seen the Pacific Ocean. Do you believe that? Well, I will be visiting your fine State in a couple weeks. And guess what while I am in town there is gonna be one heck of a Party. Oops I mean VT meet. So here are the facts (aka reasons to come out to the VT Meet. 1.) You get to hang out with members near the beach. 2.) You can drink and have food and fun while doing so. 3.) Its summer time and a great time to go to the beach to meet cool fun people. 4.) It’s at a really cool place. Sharkeez in Manhattan Beach 3801 Highland Ave. Manhattan Beach, CA 90266 310.545.6563 5.) It’s on a Friday so you don’t have to work the next day. 6.) It’s California. (That’s more for me) LOL. You are used to being there. 7.) Reserved seating at the bar and drink Specials. 8.) I hear the Southern California VT members know how to Party. 9.) I will be there (What more do you need) ha ha. So please come sign up for the Meet on July 27th 2007 The organizer is Kzapanta and Jenn_d who have been awesome at helping me plan my trip. Here is a link to the meet I hope you will come and sign up…. meetings.virtualtourist.com/... Hope to see you there..... Jenn
I WILL BE SPENDING ONE NIGHT IN LA ON MY WAY TO PALM SPRINGS. I HAVE TWO TEENAGE DAUGHTERS AND WOULD LIKE TO STAY AT A HOTEL WHERE THEY CAN SEE THE MOST THAT THEY CAN IN ONE DAY. DO YOU HAVE A SUGGESTION OF A HOTEL LOCATION THAT EITHER HAS A COMPLIMENTARY SHUTTLE TO SOME OF THE ATTRACTIONS OR IS WITHIN WALKING DISTANCE TO THE HALL OF FAME. I AM SO WORRIED THAT THEY WONT WANT TO LEAVE HOLLYWOOD WITHOUT DOING SOME FUN STUFF BUT WE HAVE UNCANCELABLE RESERVATIONS IN PALM SPRINGS. THANK YOU FOR YOUR HELP.
Do you actually get to exit the bus and take a picture of the stars house or famous location or do you have to just observe from your tour bus/shuttle? Are there any tours that are better than others as far as getting to see more?
