Grasslands in April

We'll be in China in early April and are considering going to the Inner Mongolia grasslands (Hohhot area). What type of weather are we likely to encounter? Is it still going to be covered in snow? In other words, is it worth it to go that time of year or are the conditions going to be so miserable that we won't enjoy it? Thanks Philippe

Northern China is still pretty cold... we went in October, and it was cool and wet... right now it seems to be in the 50s and low 60s... check out wunderground.com/cgi-bin/fin... for example. But China's warming up. I say go, but be ready for cool, wet and windy days. John
