Camping and Kayaking DEC 2007

by cybergenic Online Now Aug 19, 2007 at 5:49 PM

hi there, I am finally going to carry out a dream of mine and head to Tasmania to do some kayaking. Can anybody offer any tips? I will have my own car, tent and kayak. Nothing too extreme but want to get a good taste of the Tasmanian wilderness from the perspective of the water.

HI! Mate: Had a mate who cycled, tented and roughed out the great outdoors at the SW National Parks in Taz a few years ago. He did not kayak but I thought if it's the great outdoors, maybe that could be a place to start....but unfortunately, I could not offer any more info....

There are many great places to kayak in Tasmania. Is it a sea kayak or regular kayak? Try checking out the Freycinet National Park on the east coast. If you plan to camp there though it is a good idea to book in advance as it is very popular in the summer holidays. parks.tas.gov.au/natparks/fr... http://tassie.org.au/freycinet/
