I am in Vietnam several times a year and have not come across a place that serves it yet. That is most likley cause a pound of it costs several hundred dollars and from what i know it´s something that is mostly given to heads of state when they visit and it´s not something that is served in cafes. It is afterall the most expensive coffee in the world.

HI, if you are a coffee lover, i suggest you not to try Kopi Luwak here. Although Trung Nguyen is known as a famous brand in VN but i must say it sucks. There's many diff kinds of coffee here which are much more better. For REAL and TRUE weasel coffee, i recommend you purchase it in Indonesia (i tried it, not reall different tho). Usually in VN, ppl don't purchase coffee beans, Coffee is sole in powder bag. Good coffee in VN usually is from Ban Me Thuot or Bao Loc city and it is made by local. Which you can buy in big shop i dont' think it's good one. But i have known that many foreigners really like Trung Nguyen coffee. You can try it. There're many TN coffee shops in Ho CHi Minh City. if you want to enjoy the real vietnamese coffee. just contact me when you come here. I'm willing to give you a free sample. Bc i'm also a fan of coffee ^^

Hi ut_ lovable, Thank you for your comment. I am happy to have a native vietnamese to reply my question as well. Unfortunately, I am visiting HCMC with my family members on a tour package. Therefore, we couldnt tell whencwe are free to meet you. May I know the address to get the coffee you recommend? May I know rpughly the price as well? Coffee in powder bag....may I know the brand name as well? Yea, I am thinking of trying Trung N coffee as it claim to be vietnam top coffee...and the lagendee is akin to weasel coffee.... I dun mind buying a few more choices of coffee to bring back and slowly enjoy them at home. Therefore, coffee in powder bag is a good choice for me

Hey, hmm, Usulaly i buy coffee from the local shop in famous cities like Bao Loc or Buon Me Thuot. I have not bought any in HCMC tho. But i do think the price here is from 10-15USD/kg (mine i'm drinking now just costs me 6usd/kg. lol) It depends on each shop and each kind. The brand names are too much to list, lol. As you know the most famous one is Trung Nguyen. Just give you a tip, try the shop at 2A Nguyen Hue, District 1 and the cafe number 6 there. it's special and most vietnamese coffeelover pick it unhesitated.When you come to a TN coffee shop, you have chacne not only to enjoy the coffee but alson to buy some coffee and bring back to your home. Beside that, i recommend you try Regina coffee. It's good as well. The adress is 84 Nguyễn Du St, Disct 1, it's near the Metropolitan building.

Hi ut_lovable Thanks for your info... I guess this gives me a few choices to choose from to have a good cup of coffee.. By the way..is cafe no 6 is the name for the shop? Or is it that i have to count the row of shops and its number 6th shop in that row?..lol Sorry for my questions, i just would like to get a clearer pictures and to plan my itenary well.. If i have time, i would really love to try the coffee from the famous cities where you get your supply...besides you are local and you surely know the good deal.. However, Trung Nguyen is definately a stop for my family and I to buy some coffee back

Hey, in Trung Nguyen CoffeeShop, Cafe will be named with numbers. And number 6 is the bestpick for any coffeelover here.^^ Hope Vietnamese cofee wont't dissapoint you. haha Have a nice trip, mate

By the way, i understand that Trung Nguyen has many coffee shops in HCMC. does all the coffee shop has cafe no6? also, I tried to google 2A district 1 address, however, the google map cant point out any coffee shops there..does the tuk tuk drivers know the way to these shops? thanks

I get what I know as weasel coffee which has the name CHON pronounced CWONE (sort of). This coffee should be available at Trung Nguyen coffee. I get it for around 20 USD a kilo in the VN quarter (Tan Binh District) of HCMC. I am told that this is coffee digested by some sort of civit cat and then...you know the rest. I will say, that it is the smoothest coffee I have ever tasted with no bitterness and no aftertaste. Maybe someone else can add to this thread, I am no a local, so never sure, but I am lucky to be lead around by my VN wife. LOL

Hi YikHin The Trung Nguyen Coffee Shop is at the end of Nguyen Hue Street. It's in the corner between Nguyen Hue and Ton Duc Thang. If you reach there from Le Loi street, you can found his coffeeshop right at your left hand. I just checked the Trung Nguyen website at http://www.trungnguyen.com.vn/en/, the price for weasel coffee is 16.000.000 vnd/kg. It's around 750usd/kg. lol. TOO expensive. That's for your reference. Hi ut_lovable, Yea, i realise it too... It is too expensive for me. Therefore, i just hope to get a few packet of Lagendee goffee which they say is similar to weasel coffee.. Besodes, I would love to get other variants of coffee as I believe and heard that Vietnam coffee is very fragrant and nice.. Thanks for your help...thank you very mich..:)

I think you can buy at Trung Nguyen coffee The real Weasel is 600USD per kg, but you have to book before 1 month In my opinion,you can buy Legendee (about 800.000VND/kg),akin with Weasel
