Hi There,
I am going to travel alone to HCMC alone on April 27 to May 1. My itinerary in mind should be as follow:
Day 1 - Cao Dai and Cu Chi
Day 2 - Check out at Dragon Palace, start Mekong tour
Day 3 - Mekong Delta (am), HCMC (PM)
Day 4 - Mui Ne
Day 5 - Mui Ne (am), HCMC (pm)
You think it is possible? I really want to go to Mui Ne :)
Thanks!
Haydee
You mean Mui Ne close to Phan Thiet, right. I think HCMC - MN takes about 5 hours with buss and a little less with train so you spend quite lot of time on the road, right.

It is definitely possible but mt only concern is that you have not allocated much time for HCMC such as the market, the cathedral, the city hall, Nguyen Hue Plaza, Emperor Jade Pagoda, Giac Lam Pagoda, 4 museums,Re-unification Palace, and Saigon Opera House, but knowing you are very busy with your tips you will somehow manage to squeeze some of these sites in!!!
Have fun!!!

Yes David you are right. I am thinking of cutting a day of my Mekong tour to squeeze in the city tour. What do you think?
5 hours to Mui Ne is no problem because I know it's definitely worth it :)

If I would to squeeze in the city tor my itinerary would look like this:
Day 1 - City Tour, shopping, party party
Day 2 - Cao Dai and Cu Chi
Day 3 - Mekong Delta (am), HCMC (PM)
Day 4 - Check out, leave HCMC for Mui Ne
Day 5 - Mui Ne (am), HCMC (pm)

Well you could squeeze in some of the sites after you day trip to Cu chi and Cao Dai, as the trip will probably return by 6 am. if you leave early on day 4 you will have plenty time to enjoy Mui Ne and perhaps get up at the crack of dawn to return to Saigon and check more of the attractions out before your late flight which i assume is cebu pacific that leaves at 1 am.

Yes I am flying with Cebu Pacific ;) So I would be sticking to my original itinerary then. I'm so excited for this trip. I am looking at TheSinhTourist site and they have affordable tour packages. Thank you so much!

To save time, try taking night bus from HCMC to Mui Ne or Dalat. The dragon fruits are very cheap in Dalat. Also try their restaurants. Their vegetable dishes are fantastic and very reasonably priced...

Yeah, I am actually thinking of getting a tour leaving at night from HCMC so I would need not book another hotel after the Mekong tour. :)

Yes, Sinh Cafe organises good trips. I used them and actually met Mr Sinh back in 1993 when he was just starting his business at his cafe.

The Cao Dai/Cu Chi seems to be a reasonable price . The Mekhong Delta is not bad if it includes meals and accommodation but the Mui Ne seems too much!!

I think this one is better but I needa book another hotel at HCMC

In your first itinary your depart from HCMC to Mui Ne was 20PM, right. Did they calculate two nights to the price, you dropped the costs to half when start was on the morning. Are you now on the bus (is it bus transportation) almost most time of your MN trip?
Be the first to rate this answer!
Yes Markku they calculate 2 nights for my first itinerary as arrival to Mui Ne will be at 12 midnight. And it is holiday on April 30 to May 1 that's why the price is too high on my first itinerary. I think my budget suits the second IT. I just need to book another hotel on Day 3.

Heydelin
Doubt I can add anything to help with your itinerary.
If you feel the money/time pinch, you can always go for the one day Delta tour instead of the two day. But you will lose seeing the floating market.
Personally I would fly to Nha Trang, versus Mu Ne since I would save alot of travel time and NT has alot more to see and do.
Let me know when you finalize your trip and when you will be in HCMC and I will speak to my family there to see if they can take you out.
David

Hi David,
I will be getting the second tour package they sent me. I ask around other tour operators and they are charging me $100 for Cu Chi and Cao Dai/Mekong Delta tours.
I really love to see the sand dunes in Mui Ne and I dont mind traveling 5 hours :)
I will be at HCMC on Days 1, 2 (morning), 3 (night) and 5 (night). I appreciate your kindness!
Cheers,
Haydee

yes, many organisations don't bother to answer their emails. We emailed my wife's doctor in Manila at the Medical City who we have paid 130,000 pesos recently for her medical and so far after 6 days no reply!!

Oh no! I wish your wife is okay now. Why don't you call the Medical City directly?

My goodness Vicky, she is in HCMC!!!! and for sure she will not venture to Halong Bay in a 5 day itinerary

Haha I'll visit Halong Bay next time. It kinda looks like Palawan to me anyway.
