I'm a Canadian Journalism student who has been accepted for a six week internship at Radio Netherlands. I will be there from mid October until the end of November. I need somewhere to live! A hotel is out of my budget, and I can't seem to find any hostel details online. Can anyone help me find somewhere to stay? Thanks! Rebecca
www.stayokay.com is the Dutch hostels website. There are no hostels in Hilversum. For the daily commute, the most handy is the brandnew Amsterdam Zeeburg hostel: stayokay.com/index.php?pageI... Rates from 22.20 euro per person. You walk 5 minutes to Amsterdam Muiderpoort station (from the hostel) and take a train to Hilversum-Noord (Dutch Railway: www.ns.nl). Then you walk 9 minutes to the Radio Netherlands location. Total travel time (including the walking): 42 minutes. To work out any other public transportation, use www.9292ov.nl The translation of this site, you can find at: "Schedules public transport train/bus/metro/tram" - Netherlands Transportation Tip by ATLC Example: Put in the address of your departure (the Zeeburg hostel): Timorplein 21 1094 CC Amsterdam and your arrival address (Radio Netherlands): Witte Kruislaan 55, Hilversum

Hi. Maybe you can also ask the people where you'll do your internship, if you already didn't. You're probably not the first with this problem and they may have a good solution. We for instance used to have an arrangement with an old lady that liked the company once in a while... Good luck, Dennis

Did you check local B&B, often private houses ? In October and November they may want lot let a room for a longer period. www.bedandbreakfast.nl As Radio Netherlands is more or less half way between Hilversum and Bussum, also check both places + Naarden. + get yourself a bicycle
