I am considering moving to Hilo to transfer into University of Hawaii's pharmacy program, does anyonego to this college? Do you like it? how is there pre-pharmacy program?I am thinking about moving there permanently, has anyone else made the relocation? How is the cost of living, is there primarily students or is it like living in a small town? big city? Is it a car town or is everything walking/taxi distance? I would appreciate any info, thanx.
Hilo is a small town. There are very few taxis, and it's uphill to the University from the town so it can be a real workout. I recommend having a car if possible. It makes getting groceries, shopping, visiting people, etc. much easier. The town also shuts down fairly early in the evening. There are a few places to go if you want have a few drinks, dance, etc., but it can get a little rough at times. I would visit their first before deciding to transfer or move. It's a slower pace of life that's for sure!
