This is the plan for the end of October this year. Is there any "must do" or "off the beaten path" things to do along the way? We will return to Frankfurt from Prague and we will have two weeks. Part of the reason we are in Frankfurt is to visit my boyfriend's family. Thank you, in advance, for you input!
We will be in Munich between Christmas and New Year's. Our rented apartment is near the corner of Prinzregentenstrasse and Ismaninger Strasse. Can anyone recommend places near there for food, particularly breakfasts and dinners? I'd like to go with a few close-by recommendations for any days we need something closer to "home." Also, is there a grocery/store market nearby where we might be able to pick up a few things to keep in the apartment for snacking or simple breakfasts? Thanks in advance! ~Erin
Can somebody explain how I can get from Munich to Memmingen airport? I found the last train from Munich at 11PM and it arrives to Memmingen train station at about 1AM. But nobody seem to know how to get to the airport from the train station at night.
Is there a bus from Munich to Memmingen airport? How far is the train station from the airport?
Thank you for help!
Hi I have 7 hr layover in Munich.I will be travelling with 2 kids.I know there is lot to keep kids busy at the airport. But I was thinking of going to the city Center for 1 hr, show the kids around and back to the airport.
Is 7 hrs enough to time or I should drop that idea and stay at airport. Thanks in advance.
Hi we will be going to Munich on 18-20th June and 23-25th June in Zurich. I heard a lot of people mentioned about going to shopping in Konstanz, Germany for good deals. I would like to know how we going there by Train? How long will the journey take? Which place is nearer to go? Munich or Zurich?
I'm taking dad (retiree) and three other newbies to Munich for either Oktoberfest weekend. Ideally, I'd like affordable hotel accommodations, reservations at a fest tent, and a (very) patient guide to handle a senior citizen and the million questions my group will likely throw at him/her. Since time is limited with Oktoberfest around the corner, I'm thinking it might be best to sign up for an all-inclusive tour package, but which one? I've only been able to find what looks like "frat party" tours so far. Any help is appreciated.
I'm planning to go to the Oktoberfest this 2013, but I'm really really lost on this, hope you can give me a hand with all my very basic questions:
When is the best time to go to avoid craziness, if possible :)
What should I book in addition to hotel??
What are the so famous "tends"?
How much money should I expect to use? Mid range drinker
I've heard it gets too expensive, would it be worth to go after the festival to avoid that?
Thank you so much for any extra info you can provide!!!!
My husband and 18 yr old son are travelling to Munich and wherever this Christmas. We fly into Munich on the 22nd Dec and will have christmas eve dinner in Munich, as well as see the markets. As everything is then closed thought of leaving on the 25th.
Iam not sure where to go to next?
We are Australians but live in the middle east so have always had a warm Christmas.
I have found a place to stay at Oberaudorf, but have to book it for 5 nights.
Then I see Garmisch-Partenkirchen is a great place to visit but will only have 3 days left as we fly out on the 2nd Jan.
I see most places are already booked out as we need a 2 bed apt or similar .
Any suggestions on an itinerary/
I am in salzburg now and planning to go schloss neuschwanstein castle tomorrow. How shld I buy my ticx? From salzburg to munich, then munich to fussen? I heard that there is a return tix for munich to/fro fussen for 22 eur but I cant find it online. Does anyone know?

We are 2 Americans who studied in Germany 25 years ago. We will be spending 10 days in a vacation apartment in Herrsching in August and were wondering where locals to go to shop for food and such but also how far we would need to go to find a larger department store. Also any vegetarian restaurants or ethnic restaurants with veggie options close by? Finally what types of sightseeing opportunities might there be for someone with no car. We plan to take some ferry rides, hike up to Andechs, walk along the promenade and then...? Maybe a bus to Starnbergersee or by train to Augsburg? Thanks in advance!
