I am planning a couple of train trips, namely, from Johannesburg to Bloemfontein and back (return ticket) and from Komatipoort to Johannesburg (one way) in January.
My question is where can I find their Ticket offices? I am arriving at O. R. Tambo International Airport and hope to be able to buy tickets right there. Do I need to go to Park Station after all?
My e-mail to firstname.lastname@example.org bounces back right away and question in its inquiry form on their website is unanswered...
My questions are as follows:
1. I understand many minibus taxis to other cities in South Africa and the neighboring countries depart from Park Station. Is Park Station a railway station, not a bus terminal? Exactly from where would I catch minibus then?
2. Does minibus taxi run to Mafikeng? How early should I be there? 4am? 7am? Or even 12 noon?
I am planing to obtain visa to Mozambique in Johannesburg as I heard the same-day processing can be done at a reasonable cost (USD20?) and am sadly a bit confused with the opposing information as to the location of Mozambique Embassy.
18 Hurlingham Road, Sandton
252 Jepee Street
Which is correct?
Info for opening hours, fees and tips are much appreciated!
I over stayed my 90 day visa in South Africa earlier this year. I have a fine that needs to be paid before I return.
Has anyone ever paid this fine in London at the South African Embassy? And if they have, was this easy to do? How long did it take? And is there anything I should know about?
I am going to catch a train back to Johannesburg around 4am in the morning from Bloemfontein and plan to catch up a a bit of sleep from the night before INSIDE the Bloemfontein railway station.
Is the station safe enough to be inside overnight?
We are flying from Kruger to George and planning to stay in Knysna for one night, heading to Mossel Bay for a shark dive the following day, and then making our way on the Garden Route toward Cape Town. We want to stay somewhere in between Mossel Bay and Cape Town for one night before arriving in Cape Town. We're looking for some advice re: a great place to spend a night. Thanks!
Hello, we are planning on travelling to South Africa at the end of June 2014. There will be 8 of us in total. We don't mind if we fly into Joburg or Cape Town. We are trying desperately to find reasonable rates. Should we wait, will they go down closer to June? Any hints or suggestions please email me email@example.com
I will be in Hermanus next Monday with some visitors from abroad.
The plan was to go to Betty's Bay Penguins and Harold Porter Garden then a cruise to see the whales. The weather forecast is appalling so I need a plan B in case I can't do any of the out doors activities. Thank you for your suggestions
My husband and me are planning a trip to South Africa next May. Part of our planned itinerary includes a 1 night stay in Hermanus. I've read that whales are generally there in June. So I was wondering if there is anything else to do in Hermanus if there are no whales. Would it be better if we just skip Hermanus? We haven't booked our lodging as yet.
Thanks in advance for any help!
Hi. My friend and I are looking forward to Shark Cage Diving for my b-day in May 2009. We are looking for recommendations of Diving Operators. I've looked at a number of different sites and I'm looking for some opinions and info please. We would like a safe operator of course, but we aren't looking for the busiest one either. I saw some that are quite reputable, but I am apprehensive that the boat will be packed. I would like an operator that may have a smaller max of passenger with a cage that allows just 4 or less divers at a time with maximum viewing. We'll be staying in Hermanus with a car so transport is not a concern. Does anyone know if underwater/waterproof cameras are available for rental in town? are we required to wear wetsuits? How are the sightings in late May?
