I will be on Crete the first week in September and want to go from there to Albania. All the maps which I have indicate no rail connection. Can I make this trip by ferry or rail?
as Crete is an island you will definately need either ferry or plane to the Greek mainland or Corfu,[ another Greek island which is just off the coast of Albania ] l know there is a daily ferry to Albania from Corfu

I think the most convenient way is to sail from Crete to Piraeus and then take the KTEL bus from Kifissos bus station to Ioannina. From there you will take another bus to Albania. Kakavia is the border point. KTEL buses in Greece are fast and confy.
