Hi everybody! I have bought a car package with 3 sleeping places at 29/12 Due to mistake I have booked the lower level (under 1,65 meter) in the car wagon for my car. The height of the car is 1,695 meter(no chance for change the place). Is the anybody knows have I any chance to put my car to lower level of the car platform? Is there some extra space (4,5 cm)
Someone told me that she was in Tallinn week ago, and Helsinki terminal was messed up outside. She was with bus, but we will go by car week from now. Is there parking area at all now, or should we make plan b? We first did think we would find some free parking in walking distance, but we would still want the car so close to terminal, that their parking would be the best location. But I don´t want to miss the boat because of parking problems!

I will be spending October/November in Helsinki, and I am looking for a pleasant area of the city to rent an apartment or small house - perhaps up to three months. What is a pleasant area? Not city centre but within about 4-5 kil. of centre. Somewhere with parks, bicyle routes, transportation, nearby shopping (food). There will be two adults/one 4 years of age child. Thank you.
Hi I am possibly coming up to Helsinki in the next 3 weeks or so (yes i realise its last minute) and I am trying to find a place to stay for 3 months while i do my placements there. I dont know if there are any free places through HOAS still but just in case there are not, do you know where I could stay? I dont mind sharing a place but I would like to have a kitchen available...something to share between a small number of people. And of course, being a student, I cant afford a lot... preferably anything between 300-500 euros...more on the 300 side. Does anyone know of anywhere? Thanks
I am looking at getting a flight from From Delhi to London with a change in Helsinki but I only get 40 minutes to change flights, is this enough time.

Hi everyone, I am staying at Scandic Marski Hotel at Mannerheimintie 10. I want to see Seurasaari Open-air Museum and Tempeliaukio Church tomorrow on the same day and then return to the hotel. Hello, Arriving in Helsinki in early July. Need to purchase a mobile phone as the one I currently own in Canada does not have a removeable SIM card - therefore cannot unlock etc. Looking to buy a inexpensive "pay as you go" when I arrive. Any suggestions on where, what and cost to purchase?
Our flight from London lands at 11:30pm this Friday and we have to get a ferry to Tallinn (not yet booked) on Saturday, to arrive by mid-afternoon or earlier. although it seems that some earlier ones may be cheaper. We are looking for a hotel for the night and if possible a very late night or 24 hour restaurant rather than survive on budget airline food! Where is it best to look for a hotel preferably close to restaurants? Near the airport? Or near the harbour? Or in the city centre? We can't walk very far with our luggage as we are carrying heavy equipment for the event we are going to as well as our normal luggage so we have two cases each. (So it's cheaper to go via Helsinki). Once we've left our luggage at the hotel we can walk a few minutes to the restaurant. Also, does much public transport still run at that time of night or do we have to pay out for a taxi from the airport? And is it West Harbour for all ferries to Tallinn or does it depend on the operator? And do I need to book both outward and return ferries now or will there still be room at this time of year if I leave it a bit? (And perhaps decide once we'm there whether to spend more time in Helsinki or Tallinn before we fly back 9 days later.) Thanks for your help.
Hi, I'm a few days short of my trip to Helsinki and Tallin. Looking forward to it. Ended up not buying ferry tickets in advance. As I have a very early flight to Helsinki and counting to catch the ferry as soon as possible, I like the 8h30 Linda line schedule. A bit worrried that I find less info for that company than the other companies that offered the same trip. I realise that bad weather can be a problem, but as far as I can see, next Friday should be ok for them to cross. From Airport to Linda line terminal in Helsinki - If I remember correctly what I've read previously I shall take bus 615, followed by tram 3T at train station and paying 4€ for this journey. Info about the arriving port in Tallinn - all the info maps I can see and directions provided are for terminals A, B,C,D, why is it not common to mentioned the Linnahall port? should it be walkabe to the metropol hotel (I'm not staying there, but it is a reference for the hostel I'm staying at). Sorry if I sound too silly, but usually Iplan carefully my arrivals when I travel. A bit short of time for this one. thank you so much! Another question: I'm returning back to Helsinki on Saturday afternoon and staying until Tuesday noon. Will be staying at Scandid Marina. Shall I walk around to see the capital's main attractions and get a ferry to Suomenlinna, or I'd better use public transportation and get a 3-day card. Juste to note that I like walking, but if it is not possible to see the main attractions on foot... Txs again!
Hi, I was wondering how far is the Temppeliaukio (Rock) Church from Helsinki airport as we have about five hours free time between flights. Thank you
Hi all One question: what is the cheapest available ferry option from Helsinki to Tallinn if one departs on Friday in the afternoon and is back next day, on Saturday in the noon. Thanks Rati
Hi, Is there an airport shuttle service from Helsinki airport to hotels in the downtown area? If so, what is the cost? If there is no airport shuttle service, what would be the approximate taxi fare? Thank you
How does one get from the LHC West Harbor to the Fortress of Sumenlinna?
I'll be on the Emerald Princess. I arrive in Helsinki (LHC West Harbor) on 6/18 as part of a Baltic Cruice. Where can I buy a one-day transport ticket to get into town? Will this ticket be good on the Tram lines 3B & 3T? What bus number do I take at the Pier that will take me into city center? How long is the bus ride? Thank you, in advance, for your help :)))
Hi lovely people of Helsinki My family and I : 9 adults and very well behaved 5 year old will be visiting Helsinki on the 30th of May arriving at Hernesaari at 8 am and leaving at 6pm by cruise ship. At this point I think we should go to the market place, and then on to the ferry to the Suomenlinna Island & Fortress, hopefully get a guided tour of the place, then have lunch on the island (i hear there is decent beer? is there good food there and what would you recommend to eat?). then the group can disperse where some of us can look at the submarine and the child and his parents can go to the toy museum maybe? Then we regroup come back on the ferry and if there is time walk past some major sites in Helsinki itself before heading back to the Hernesaari port. I would appreciate any input on whether you think we are trying to fit too much in to a day or if we should be able to fit more in and answers to the below quetsions. 1.) What is the best and cheapest way for the 9 of us to travel from Hernesaari to the Market place and back? 2.) Marketplace is not open on Monday is it? As such is there anything quick and nice that is worth walking past to see while we are passing there? 3.) We want to then take the ferry to the Suomenlinna Island & Fortress. I read that the ferry costs €3.80 per person, how often does it go and come? what time is the last ferry? 4.)At the island I was hoping to get a guided tour of the island but read somewhere that there are only guided tours in June - September or something? Is there no guided tour on the 30th of May? Is it possible to organise a guide at all? I read also about Citysherpas, do any of you know of them, are they reliable and can I get one of them to do guided tour of the island if the island itself is not running guided tour until June? I think this is all I have to ask :) Really appreciate anyone who has taken time to read this far and really appreciate any feedback at all! :) Warm regards Lena
I intend to take the ferry from market square to suomelinna fortress. However when I return to market square i want to get the bus to the rock church. I think it is the 14B. Can anyone help. What street does the bus go from and what stop should I get out at. Roughly how long is the trip.

Hello, I'm wondering where in Helsinki I can find leather paints. Thanks in advance.
Hello I'm trying to plan a trip to Helsinki and Tallinn next June. I have a flight that arrives to Helsinki airport at 4h50 am, so as it is difficult to get such a early check in, I thought maybe a good idea is to go directly to the ferry and check in in Tallin at more decent hours! Realised there is a ferry at 7h30 am, but maybe it is a bit in a hurry to collect lugage and take the 2 busses. My idea was to buy the ferry tickets online, but if I don't make it to the 7h30 ferry, would it be easy to change into the 10h30 one? Or do you think I can buy it at the ferry terminal, so I can adjust the timetable to the actual time I arrive there. This should be done on Friday, 10th June. Any advice? Following tips on this forum, I think I'll be staying at Scandic Marina... it is good location,no? All in all my trip plan is as following: Arriving at airport 10thJune 4h50 am Going to ferry terminal to take the ferry to Tallin and stay there one night Mid-day on the 11th June get the ferry back and finally checking in Helsinki. Depart on 14th June! Taking this plan is there any travel card I should buy, so Ican save a bit on transportation? Txs a lot for your suggestions.
Hi, can someone please advise me on a place where I can watch Formula 1 in Helsinki? I'd be so grateful! p.s. recommending a TV channel will do.
Is there a bus in Helsinki that will take you to main sites of the town. I'm coming for a one day stop via a cruise ship and would like to see as much as possible during that time. Is there a bus stop close to the port? Thanks in advance.
Hi! I am traveling to Helsinki and Tallinn on end of May, should I buy the ferry ticket now or should I wait until I get there? (are prices much better online?) What ferry-companies are recommended? Thanks!
