What is the fastest way to get from the city of Wells to Heathrow Airport? Cost is not important. Thanks.
Fastest way will probably be by car (i.e. taxi). But it won't be cheap. theaa.com/route-planner/inde... gives an estimated journey time of 2.5 hours. Googling 'wells airport transfer' on www.google.co.uk will bring up various local firms. Be careful not to get confused with Tunbridge Wells (Kent)...Wells is in Somerset. Next fastest (and cheaper) will be train. Nearest station to Wells is Castle Cary (about 12 miles away). www.nationalrail.co.uk will give you train times, details and fares. Journey time varies from 2h 17 mins to 4+ hours. You can also get a coach (long-distance bus) from Wells direct to Heathrow, taking 3h 25 mins. There is only one bus per day, leaving at 06:55. www.nationalexpress.com for information, fares and booking.

The easiest would be to get the bus from Wells bus station (First Bus 376)to Bristol Temple Meads (there's a short walk from the bus stop to the train station) and get the train from there into London Paddington and then the Heathrow Express from Paddington - the total journey time is about 3 and a half hours. For timetables and alternative routes use www.travelinesw.com If you want to get there a bit faster you could take a taxi from Wells to either Bath Spa or Castle Cary and pick up the train from either of these. For train times www.firstgreatwestern.co.uk If you want to savea bit of money on the train book with First Great Western in advance and get your ticket as a through ticket via Paddington. Hope this helps.

As cost is not important then a taxi will be the fastest way, taking between 2 1/2 and 3 hours door to door.
