Hi, My family (6adults 1 child) are looking to travel to Hawaii for my mothers 60th birthday. We will have my niece with us she will be 4, (could have other kids by then I suppose) and we will be looking for accomodation either at a resort that has lots of kids activities, and also activities for adults, or a self contained apartment. Are there any suggestions of where we could look? Happy to be on the north shore or away from Honolulu. Thanks in Advance
Are you only considering Oahu or could you travel to some of the other islands - Maui?

Maui would be my choice. Kannapali Alii best place on Kannapali beach close to all sorts of great stuff. Check VRBO for units there. Don't rent directly as it's way to$$$.

Thanks for that. Does Kaanapali have things for kids to do?

As much as any place else in Hawaii. Hawaii is mostly for adults there are no theme parks for kids. While the islands are fairly compact (Hawaii excluded) you still have to drive from point to point for "kids" stuff. The beach will be about the best you can hope for in most locations. If you really want to focus on kids activites then look at the Disney resort on Ohau.

Sorry i shouild have been more specific - kids clubs at all? My niece is pretty full on - doesnt sit still for long, so having a place where she can be put into a kids club for half a day with other kids to play with would be beneficial.

We went to Maui when my son was 12 and he loved it all - snorkelling with dolphins and turtles, all the beaches on the Road to Hana, the Haleakala Volcano and even walking through the Iao Valley. Maui would certainly be my choice too.

The new Disney resort on Oahu, Aulani, is on the leeward side of the island, west of Honolulu. They have activities for kids of all ages, including Aunty's Beach House, a kids' club for ages 4-12. resorts.disney.go.com/aulani... The Turtle Bay Hilton on the North Shore has five-day family packages, but they're designed for the whole family to do things together - hula, paddleboarding, horseback riding, zumba. turtlebayresort.com/hawaii_p...
