I recently came back from a trip to Hanoi and would like to contact the Duty Free Shop at Noi Bai Airport from which I purchased some alcohol. Can anyone provide me with their email address and/or postal address ?
I will be in Hanoi next month for about 10 days. I will be making calls so I will need a prepaid phone. Can I purchase one at the airport? Are they readily available in the city?
Thanks!
I have already prepaid for my accomodation in Hanoi. The staff member that arranges the tours through the hotel is also a travel agent. He told me that I could pay by cash or credit card when I check-in or check-out of the hotel. After supplying him with a date of when I would like to go on the overnight Halong Bay trip, he has now emailed me a form and wants me to fill in my credit card details. After what he has told me before, do you think this sounds odd? After all, I will be checking into the hotel 5days before the scheduled Halong tour and can pay him by credit card when I arrive. I definitely won't supply him with my credit card details via email !!!
Hi,
I am travelling to Hanoi soon and would like to know where I can buy nail art decoration products in particular nail foils and nail foil adhesive? In Australia I have only found one place that has a huge range and I would still have to mail order it so I thought I'd wait and see what Hanoi had to offer. Most travel guides discuss beauty salons but I do my nails myself. I am looking forward to my trip because I've never been there.
I am also considering the 2 Day 1 Night V'Spirit Classical Cruise for my husband and I due to the excellent reviews on trip advisor. What do other VT members suggest as we only have a budget of around $100 per person for that ?
Where to hire or take a motorbike tour near Hanoi?
Myself and the girlfriend are heading to Vietnam in June for two weeks. One of the main things i want to do is tour the areas around Sapa, or Ninh Binh (or any other areas people recommend!) by mo-ped/motorbike for 2-4 days. The guided tours seem relatively expensive when considering the cost of simply hiring a bike.....So are there any areas that people have ridden around and felt comfortable on bikes without using a tour guide? Or would you suggest taking a guided tour, if so, which are the best companies to use and how much? Thank you!! :D
My british passport as gone for replacement.takes 4 weeks. My visa expires14/4/13 my passport is due back herehanoi 20/4/13.Ican t get an extention visa without my pasport. The british embassy is aware of my situation but only advice, i could be fined $100 if i overstay my visa.I simply want to collect my passport and cycle on to beijing surely there as to be someway of arranging this?fineance is not a problem. The only alternative is to apply for a emergancy passport and fly back to uk before the present visa expires 14/4/13,then have my new passport sent to uk.The emergancy passport will posably cost more than an overstay fine.so my best option is to overstay This will get me into china which is where i want to go.not back to the U.K where i have no wish to go.the overstay fine will be the first entry into my new passport which will creat further complications when applying for visas, ect. Thanks for any advice
Just wondering which "Avi Airport or Airport View" you suggest for location and better room, those of you who are familiar with them. I am not familiar with the ideal for Transit Hotel as I have just begin my research.
I will be in Hanoi from 12 to 13 April 2013. Besides visiting the Hanoi office of VietJetAir, watch the puppet performance and visit Hoan Kiem Lake, what can i do in Hanoi in 2 Days 1 Night?
My fiancé and I are looking to stay a month in a flat in Hanoi. We want to settle in but are nervous about all the talk about scams and racism. Should we consider another spot in south east Asia? We are hardy North America and European travelers who are used to spending long periods of time I'm what most would consider uncomfortable settings, but we want to try to keep down the uncomfortable factor this time around.
Are there any significant differences between Vietnam Airlines, VietJet or JetStar regarding quality, reliability or service?
Hello all. I will travel to Hanoi on next February during New Lunar Year celebration. Do you think this hotel has the room what I can see the fireworks in Hoan Kiem Lake? Do any one stayed here before? Any comments? Thank you very much.
My boyfriend and I will be staying at the Sheraton Hanoi West Lake. Have been deliberating on which transfer to use from the airport to the hotel. The scam stories are scary! If we were to take the Vietnam Airline Minivan would it be possible for them to drop us off at the hotel? It looks to be on the route between the airport and the Old Town... Also, would the minivans have the Vietnam Airlines logo on them? If they don't drop us off at the hotel onroute to their destination we may take the Jetstar Bus instead since it looks more comfortable. Thanks, Mel
Hi! Would anyone be able to recommend a Hanoian restaurant which serves a good Nom Ga Pho Co? I've only read about the one outside 65 Lan Ong Str, Hoan Kiem, Hanoi... Second dish is the Non-Pork Banh Xeo (I love this but don't eat pork). I'll be staying at West Lake. Thus, preferably a restaurant near there or the Old Town area... Thanks! Mel
Heard that it is cold. Do people wear boots? Would like to wear my UGGS :)) But don't wanna appear odd...
Please advise how I could go to Phu Vinh Rattan village from Hanoi ? Any public transportation ? I want to find a traditional trolley for babies with wheels. Or we can find them even in Hanoi ? Thanks
Going to Hanoi last week of December. Is Malaysian currency traded in Vietnam? If yes, should I change into Dong in KL or Hanoi? Thanks, Mel

Is anyone familiar with the Serenade Hotel on Hang Dao Street? Seems to have a great location for walking but I can't find as much about it as I would like. TripAdvisor comments are good, but I have become generally suspicious of their reviews in Hanoi. Thanks!
I am getting ready to book a room but am having a little trouble understanding the different sections of downtown Hanoi. So I have found rooms in three areas that look promising: 1) the cathedral neighborhood, 2) the opera neighborhood, and 3) the old quarter area just north of Lake Hoan Kiem. I have found reviews and posts that claim that all three areas are the center and "best" areas to stay. So I am trying to figure out the difference between the three. What is each neighborhood best for? I enjoy walking so I am looking for the most central location from a walking standpoint. Any advice or clarification would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
We are travelling to Halong Bay in December I am planning to do a crusie - is 2 nights too long as it may be too cold to do swimming activities. Suggestions for a company which is not too expensive for 2 adults and 2kids.
Can I buy a Sim card at the Hanoi airport? Which on is the best?
So, I am finding mixed reviews about the Water Puppet Theatre. We are thinking we will most probably do it, but is there only the one theatre or is there more than that?
I was watching the food channel the other day and stumbled upon this show where Gordon Ramsay visits Vietnam to try and learn how to cook authentic Vietnamese cuisine. In Hanoi he goes and meets someone called (at least in the show), "Madam Duck". I loooooove me some duck so I'd really like to visit this place when I go to Hanoi in a couple of months. Anyone know where it is? youtube.com/watch?v=zFcZct64... P.S. Any other must-eats for Hanoi?
Hi We plan to travel to Halong Bay to spend 2 nights on a junk but would like suggestions on how to get there. We are 2 couples so should we look at hiring a driver? We wish to visit Hoi An and plan to fly to Hue then again need suggestions for getting to Hoi An. We fly home from Ho Chi Minh so that's the 3rd leg of our trip. I've had a quote for all this packaged up and looking at2000pp. I think we can do all this ourselves with tours in each place. What do you think? Thanks we'd appreciate any ideas and suggestions.
Hi everyone here!!! I will be in Hanoi from April 28th! Feel soo excited to go explore this legendary city! I will only have 3 full day staying there, any suggestions for my travel plan? I know Halong bay is famous but i have been to Mildfordsound in Newzeadland and Guilin in China so i am not especially attracted by Halong bay since it's the similar kind of landscape... what about biking around? are there any simple & pleasant itenaries that i can go explore? ( lots of green, mountains or rice fields...) Also, anyone around who are intersted to hang out together? go try the local food, bars or clubs!
