Hey guyz and gals, I'll be in Hanoi from 12 January until 17 January 09. Absolutely know nothing in Hanoi, just simply book a flight to Hanoi to release my working pressure. Can anyone help to recommend me those places that great to visit and have fun. Those places that you listed for me can travel by bike there? because I plan to rent a motorbike there for me to travel around. Please help me. Thanks! Regards, Marcus
One great trip on a bike is up Ba Vi Mountain, just make sure the bike is in good nick especially for the great glide down the mountain. Jonny

Hi Marcus, Hanoi is a great city to see and you can easily spend your whole time there being busy seeing everything! As you plan to rent a motorbike, I would kindly invite you to check out my Hanoi motorbike tour tips. The traffic in Hanoi is horrid, the streets are bad and the air is full of exhaust fumes - so no better place to be adventurous and ride your bike there! ;) My tip would be to rent a motorbike there and leave the city via Chuong Duong Bridge. This will take you to the countryside and allow you to see rural Vietnam in all its beauty! Hi, Its a great way to rent a motorbike and explore Hanoi. You can visit the places that I aready listed on my page "M&M's WORLD" - Ladyfromasia's Profile you can get more than 5 places on a day, depends on your driving & map reading talents :p Besides, you can visit several places by outskirts of Hanoi but its better you have local people to guide you or you could loose the way. Tell me if you want more info abt Hanoi or Vietnam, I'll try to reply. Cheers, M&M

That's a good idea to discover Hanoi, however, Hanoi is a big and a very busy city, it's crowded with motorbikes and cars, the streets are narrow. I think you may be surprised and confused with the traffic when you are there. You can rent a motorbike easily and discover Hanoi in your way. There are some tourist destinations that you should not miss: Ho Chi Minh's Complex, Temple of Literature, Vietnam Museum of Ethnology, Hoan Kiem lake and the old quarter. You can also biking around Hanoi to the countryside, If you like to visit an old Pagoda But Thap pagoda would be a good choice because you can bike through countryside to reach there. Have good time!
