Hi, I am considering using Hannover as a base to explore North & East Germany for about 5 days. I would be interested in any info that would make my stay enjoyable. Also, if anyone would be interested in a "meet" I would be glad to do so. I am planning to go to Berlin for a full day and I also hope to see Bremen, Goslar & Magdeburg. Perhaps a bit more. I am very ambitious.

Dear Friends, I am travelling to Hannover for the CeBit Expo from 6th to 9th 2012. I see that weather in Hannover looks extremely chilly during this period looking at weather outlook shows lows at 1C and hi at 4C and added to that good rains. Coming from a hot tropical climate this looks little worrying for me..can anyone please suggest the appropriate winter gear that I can arm with so that I can face the weather conditions more favorable.. I will travel to Hannover late April this year for the fair (Messe). I have been there once and used public transport system -it is quite convenient. This time though I must use a taxi since my flight comes quite late (10:30 p.m)-it is not possible to use train/bus. I am renting a room during the Fair so the host will not be very happy to see me around midnigth on the door. In any case, does any one know how much approximately is the taxi cost from Airport in Hannover to Pelikanstrasse station . How much time takes the ride to? Any specific taxi company to avoid? I saw on Google Maps that there is a field of old Panzers located near Hannover, actually closer to Langenhagen. Is anyone familiar with this? Is it part of a museum or park? Any details would be appreciated.

I am thinking of booking the Hotel Am Lindenhof in Hannover it is located at An der Feldmarkt 5. However I cannot find any reviews by past guests. Have checked TripAdvisor and they have none. Would appreciate any comments from those that live in Hannover, if they have any comments about this hotel. txs Phil

I will be traveling to Hameln/Hannover area end of November and would like to visit a few different Christmas Markets. Any suggestions? Since I have family in Hameln I will be visiting that one. I was thinking perhaps Goslar ? Visited there years ago and really liked the town. I will not be able to go too far south of Hameln, not enough time. I am flying out of Hamburg so thinking might try the Hamburg Christmas Market OR perhaps one on the way up to Hamburg.

Hi I will be traveling to Germany May 2010 with partner and (2) bicycles. We will be utilizing train travel approximately 4 times within a 14 day period,always with bikes (and panniers). 1) Hanover to Hameln (airport to friends/family) 2) Hameln to Koln 3) XXXX to Hameln (somewhere near Frankfurt or Heidelburg) 4) Hameln to Hanover (back to airport) Is it more economical to purchase train passes in US for Germany travel? Do I need to make sure the passes allow bike travel? When we go on trains with our bikes we need to stay with our bikes. We do not want any train that makes us leave our bikes alone. Is this doable? Aloha! Is there an S-Bahn that connects Hannover (near central train station) to Hildesheim (train station or specifically Noah Cafe am Hohnsensee)? During October I am visiting friends both in Hannover and Hildesheim and want to decide whether to stay the entire time in Hannover and "commute" to Hildesheim or to stay some days in Hildesheim and some days in Hannover. Hi, I am looking for a place in Hannover that is open all night on a Saturday to Sunday night and allows me to sit in the warmth until my train departs at 6 am from Hbf. McD's, a Turkish restaurant, etc. I thought about going to the airport, but at the time the concert ends that I am attending there will be no S-Bahn to the airport and I cannot afford a taxi, much less a hotel. Hello to all: We have a tournament we woukd kije to go in Hannover on March 14th and 15th. I looked at all low cost airlines and only Air Berlin flies there and the rate right now is like 180€ each. Can someone give me a list of Low cost airlines that come to Hannover? Maybe I am missing one with a real deal. Also, any big city (such as Frankfurt) near? My husband and I will be traveling to Germany for the first time. The first few days I will be in business meetings while my husband explores. After the meetings are over, I would like to "dump" some luggage as we will be spending the next week backpacking around Germany. Hello All, If I arrive into Hannover at 16:55 hrs and need to catch the Bahn from terminal 1, level 0 at 18:40 hrs, is that possible? Or is that much time for baggage etc not sufficient?
