I've been asked on holiday with a group of friend in Hammamet Tunisia, May next year. It looks like a fab hotel (Les Orangers) and it £665 for two weeks, 24 hour all inclusive. Is that a good price? I was just after peoples opinions about this area and things to do etc. I'm undecided on whether to go or not! Thankyou Hayley :)

      holidaying in June

by suzeeroglu Online Now May 2, 2012 at 2:15 AM

Hi everyone, My family and I are travelling to Hammamet in June myself, my turkish husband, my son 12 and 3 year old daughter. We are staying all inclusive at vincci nozha beach resort. I wondered how easy it is to get to hammamet itself as we dont want to be stuck in the hotel all the time. Is it easy to get around? Maybe im wrong but i always assumed it would be a bit like Turkey in the way of people hassling us to buy things is this true? Is there many things for children to do? day trips not too far as my daughter can be a bit wriggly :) sorry for so many questions but also is there mosquitos? ive only been bothered by them in western turkey so do they bother people much in Tunisia? Thanks for the time to read my questions many thanks suzanne

Hi, I am thinking about booking this hotel at the end of October for me and my girlfriend, its a suprise for her bday. What can you tell me about the hotel and the area. We go to Turkey a lot so the whole culture side of Tunisia will not be a problem. Do you know anything about the hotel, the surrounding area, how much money we will need, the weather, the restaurants etc. Much Appreciated.

by roxylocks Online Now Mar 20, 2010 at 7:45 AM

Hi, I'm going to stay in Hammamet in April. Being a French A level student, I was wondering whether standard French was widely spoken in this area, and whether I would have the opportunity to be surounded by French speakers, so I could intergrate with the culture whilst practising my French? Are there any towns or villages nearby, where I'd have a chance to speak with French-speaking locals? Would there be many French tourists around? Cheers ;)

Hi all, I am off to Hammamet (again) in March for a week. I am staying in the above hotel and I have a few questions: Does anyone know of any good quality restaurants in Hammamet? We are going all inclusive but we are planning on eating out too so that we can get some authentic Tunisian food. Also - during the day is there much to do? I have been to Hammamet before, but I was about 10 when I last went so I don't remember a lot about it! Any tips or general guide as to where to head would be great! Muchas Gracias! Kayleigh

    • Anybody traveling to Hammamet in June/July?

by Dean84 Online Now Jun 18, 2008 at 3:34 AM

Hi all! Was just wondering if anyone is traveling to Hamemmet between the 25th of June and 9th of July? I'm due to go on the 25th and was originally supposed to be going with my girlfriend but we split up last week and now she doesn't want to go. So at such short notice the only choice i have is to go with a mate and i just wanted to see if anybody else around our age (24) will be out there to meet so were not bored, on what seems to be a predominately 'couples' holiday. • Dress Code in Tunisia

by Empressmay Online Now Jun 16, 2008 at 11:54 AM

Hey there! I'm travelling to Hammamet, Tunisia for the first time this year with my boyfriend; we're both 27. Just wondering what to pack, clothes-wise? For example, I have a pair of mid-thigh shorts that I like to wear with a long strappy top for evenings out with heels, does this sound too revealing (ie to go to the discos and bars)? Do tourists tend to cover up in Hammamet by wearing long skirts and trousers all the time, or can we be fairly relaxed? I don't like to wear midriff revealing tops or miniskirts. I just want to ensure that we don't disrespect the local culture or draw too much attention. Is it perfectly normal to wear bikinis on the beach and around the pool? And I hear my boyfriend needs to pack a pair of trousers for restaurants, do I also need to cover my legs? I hope there is someone who knows the evening scene in Hammamet who can advise! Thanks in advance...Jennifer :)

      Yasmine Hammamet, Mahdia or MONASTIR??

by Paul54 Online Now Sep 5, 2007 at 5:51 PM

My wife and I will be going to Tunisia for a month in mid February. We have already been to this beautiful country in October of 2006. On this occasion we plan on staying for 3 weeks in Sousse and we were hoping to spend the last week in Yasmine Hammamet but a travel agent told me that this area is practically closed down at this time of the year. As a result, we were thinking of going to Mahdia or Monastir. However, I was wondering whether or not these 2 areas have more to offer at the beginning of March!!! If anyone out there has been to these areas between February 15 and March 15 I would like to heat from you because we are hoping to make our reservations as soon as possible. THANKS.

Hi everyone, Can someone tell me what is the best way to do the 2-day Sahara trip? I will be staying in Hammamet in May and definitely want to visit the desert. I'm guessing it has to an overnight stay because it's so far from Hammamet? Did anyone take tours from the hotel? What was your mode of transportation? Did you go to Tunis to take a bus/train? Where did you stay once you were there? (Douz, etc.) Any advice would be much appreciated. Thanks!
