Hi, my friend and I are visiting Hammamet next week and were wondering what is the best currency to bring with us. Also how is is it to exchange money. We can either bring English pounds or Euros. Would appreciate any advice. Thanks
Either GBP or Euro will be fine for Tunisia. The local currency is the Dinar, and it is illegal to import or export ANY dinars from the country. You will have to exchange your pounds or Europs for dinars when you arrive and make sure that you change them all back (including the coins!) before you leave. The exchange rate is fixed by the government, so you will get the same rate at the airport as you will at a hotel, bank or currency exchanger.
