    • TOURS VS DO IT YOURSELF

      Niagara Falls Yesterday

Better to book a tour or try to do it on your own? Arriving on a Monday evening, going to the magic show; will be there all day Tuesday and Wednesday - leaving on Thursday morning. We have a 12 year old and want to do and see as much as possible (possibly including the aero tram and the jet boat). Suggestion greatly appreciated!

    • Which route to Niagara Falls?

Sault Sainte Marie Apr 25, 2013 at 3:17 PM

Hi, I will be driving from Madison Wisconsin to Niagara Falls in June and will be crossing the border at Sault Ste Marie. I would really appreciate some advice on the following: For an overnight stay which would you recommend, the usa or ontario side of the border? What route would you recommend for the onward journey? Is there a route that includes a car ferry crossing? 13 years ago I did a long drive around the great lakes and I remember taking a car ferry but cannot remember where from or where it arrived (across part of lake huron maybe?) I do remember really enjoying that ferry trip though and would love to find it again to enjoy with my children. I seem to recall spending a few hours on a lovely beach after the ferry crossing. Any clues and recommendations will be greatly appreciated.

    • Best way to get around Toronto?

      Toronto May 10, 2013 at 7:26 AM

Ok, so I have searched through several of the threads for suggestions for this, and I have found some. In July, four of my friends and I are visiting Toronto. We are wondering if it is worth it to use the TTC pass? Or would it be better for us to go by Taxi? We will be staying near the airport, but we will definitely be checking out the city. We will be there for four nights, and five days.

Any pointers on what to visit too? We are not into Museums or Galleries etc.

How to get from Niagara, CA to Buffalo Airport for a flight!

Niagara Falls Apr 27, 2013 at 12:11 PM

Hi, I am looking to visit Niagara (CA) for the day and then take a flight from Buffalo to NYC that night, how would we go about this without a car?

Is it OK to go just for the day? We will be travelling from Toronto that day. We could possibly stay 1 night and fly NYC the following morning but no point if nothing to do?

It'll be December so other than the actual looking at the Falls (doubt the boat trip will be on) is there anything else to do?

Niagara Falls Apr 25, 2013 at 8:03 PM

We're heading for Maine later this year, and since we'll be passing so close to Niagara Falls, I'd like to see it. We plan to get to the town of NF, stay for the night, and leave at 10 or 11 the next morning. What's the best way to use our time? Can we get to a good viewpoint at sunrise? Riding the boat can wait for another time - we just want to get a good look and take some pictures.

Where to stay for 1 night?

Niagara Falls Apr 29, 2013 at 11:58 AM

I am coming from Toronto and looking for 1 nights accommodation - central and nice but not too pricey although if it came with a great view I may consider paying more.

We are leaving to fly from Buffalo the next day at 12.35 so if you also know the best way to get from Niagara to Buffalo airport this would help too - I have been told you can jump a taxi cab and also maybe use a train/bus?
Slightly worried that border control could take a while!

FRUITS IN SEASON & Area to Book our accommodation

by listenandlearn Online Now Jul 28, 2009 at 9:30 PM

We will only be in Hamilton, Canada for three nights and two days. Which is a good safe location and nearest to the Niagra Falls to book for our accommodation? We are on our way to Hamilton, Ontario. We heard that there are many sweet fruits which are shipped from Bangkok to Hamilton. Does anyone know where we would find them, we meant, which groceries would be selling them? We will be staying at Falls Views Blvd., Niagra Falls, Ontario... We also heard that there are good authentic Chinese places to eat. Any suggestions from a location? Cheers!

    • Travel options to Niagra from Hamilton

by Shimrod Online Now Jun 20, 2007 at 1:13 PM

I'm flying in to Hamilton airport in September, and have a hotel booked the same night in Niagra. I know it isn't far to travel, but the flight time has changed and I won't be getting to Hamilton now until after 6pm. Could anyone give me details on how late public transport runs from Hamilton to Niagra, and what the best travel option might be for a couple with luggage? How much might a taxi cost over that distance? I'm more concerned with doing it in the quickest time rather than cheapest cost (within reason!), although I don't want to hire a car for this one trip. Thanks Shim

      Immigrating to Canada

by Spoon1 Online Now Jun 9, 2004 at 9:30 AM

Hi! My name's David, I'm 34 yrs old and live in the UK with my fiancee Linda. We're both wanting to emigrate to Canada in search of a better life for ourselves. We have no kids [not planning any either!] and, quite honestly, are fed up with the way Britain is heading; particularly with the ever burgeoning European Union. We both want to live in a country which, we feel, will appreciate our efforts and patriotism and reward us accordingly. We do not want to sponge off the state [seen UK deteriorate rapidly as a result of other people doing that!] but want to make a valid and worthy contribution to the Canadian economy and immerse into Canadian culture as much as possible. Well, that's the political waffle done with! Can anyone give us any pointers and tell us of any pitfalls we may need to be aware of? We're looking to settle either in Ontario/around Toronto or areas surrounding Ottawa. What areas should we avoid, and why? ALL helpful responses welcomed, including those from indigenous Canadians AS WELL AS British ex-pats who have emigrated and wish to share their experiences.
