I'd like to leave my rolling bag in the Hallstatt train station lockers before heading to the square with my backpack. Are lockers available, and if so, for what length of time? Thank you.
No lockers in Hallstatt train station (it´s realy tiny), the closest one would be in Bad Ischl (or Attnang-Puchheim where you might have to change trains anyway) oebb.at/en/Planning_your_tri...

There is no ticket counter also no ticket machine, but you can buy the ticket in the train (with the conductor), buying... more
I personally find it easier to do the cities by public transport, but the areas in the mountains themselves are easier... more
