Visiting in August. Wondering what the good places are to catch some good rock/alternative or Maritime music? Preferably near the downtown. Thanks.
Moviegu - Halifax is full of bars with live bands. For maritime music id say the Split Crow on Thursday nights, The Old Triangle and Pogue Fado any night - they're walking distance from the waterfront and have live bands playing maritime/celtic music. For alternative/rock, the marque's the place to go. Its in a bit of a sketchy part of neighbourhood so I wouldnt suggest going alone. The Attic and Planet are a sure thing too. All of them are in downtown Halifax!
