Santo Domingo to Port-au-Prince

I was wondering if anyone has done the bus trip direct from Santo Domingo to Port-au-Prince or crossed into Haiti from the DR before? I will be in the DR for a week in May and was looking to spend a couple of nights in Port-au-Prince and then come back to Santo Domingo for a couple of days on the beach. Would you say that going to P-a-P for a couple of nights is not worth the 6 hour bus ride? Any thoughts? Thanks in advance

    You dont go out at night in P-au-P. It's NOT safe. You got to know (and trust) a good, honest and very brave person. I've been there twice in the last 5 years.
