    • Train tickets Ulaanbaator to Beijing

      China May 17, 2013 at 4:19 AM

      Hi,
Sorry if this post isn't in the appropriate forum. I didn't know whether to post in China or Mongolia so settled on both.
I am looking to take this train route in June, preferably on or around the 27th June, when I believe there is a train. I want to book this in advance, as it's the busy season. Can anyone recommend any travel agencies for purchasing tickets, or advise me of the best way to buy?

Any help would be much appreciated!

    • Where is this "surprising" restroom in restaurant near the Forbidden City?

      Beijing May 6, 2013 at 6:26 AM

Do you know the name/location of this restroom, with these red lady-shaped sinks?
      flickr.com/photos/redhawk170...

The restaurant was located just outside the west side of the Forbidden City in Beijing (China).
The photographer "redhawk1700" took the photo some years ago and doesn't recall the name of the restaurant anymore.

      Thanks for your help!

Would it be better to arrange a tour through a Xian tour operator or contact a Luoyang based operator? Much appreciate also if anyone can recommend a good tour operator that you have experienced with in the past. Thanks.

Cheap tickets from Beijing to a nice beaches

      Beijing Apr 26, 2013 at 5:48 AM

I have found cheap tickets online to Beijing for Christmas and New Year 2013/2014. We would like to stay a couple of days in Beijing and then go somewhere nice for sun and beaches. We have been searching for cheap flight tickets from Beijing to Bali, elsewhere in Indonesia, Philippines, etc, but it is hard make a decent search when we are not sure about where we want to go. All we know is Beijing as the departure city and low cost flights to a beach.

Does anyone know a nice and sunny place where flight tickets are cheap from Beijing?

We have already been to Thailand and Malaysia so we would like to try a differt country. Another stop a couple of days in Seoul or Hong Kong might be possible as well so cheap flights from there to nice beaches would also be an option.

      Thank you from Lena

    • Free and easy vs tour package

by dengoh Online Now May 28, 2007 at 10:43 AM

Hi, I am wondering if I should book a package from Singapore or just book hotels / rent car / take public transport and go whereever i want to etc. is there a suggested route to take to make the most of my 7-8 days there? Can anyone advise is it easy to take public transport or better to rent a car ? and how much for both modes. Understood the hotel rate quoted usually are rack rates which can go much lower depending on season. How much would be the average 3-4 stars hotels around sanya or haikou around mid-june ? thanks.

Hi everyone, just wondering if anyone can tell me how bad the weather is likley to be in Hainan in last week of June. Would not be my favourite time to travel but we are coming to China for a wedding so don't have much choice. Is it worth risking it for three/fours days in Hainan (are we likely to get any good weather at all?) or would it be more sensible to go somewhere else (thinking of Guilin/Yangshou). Do not want to be stuck on beach in rain with nothing to do! Thanks Thea
