Looking for a flight from Europe to Guatemala in summer I am wondering if we could save some money by flying to Tuxtla in Mexico and crossing the boarder to Guatemala overland. Are there travel agencies offering direct transportation from Tuxtla to Guatemala City? How much would this cost for a group of 5? How long would the jurney be?
Hello there, You got it. If you can fly from europe to mexico city and then to Tapachula, Chiapas or Tuxtla Gutierrez, and then cross the border by land. From Tapachula you can catch Galgos bus line (US$20p/p) or Tica Bus to guatemala city.I've read in the thorntree.lonelyplanet forum that from San Cistobal de las Casas there is a shuttle van all the way to antigua for US$60 p/p. In my opinion that's kind of expensive. So you'll be better off taking the bus. So try to post you question on the thorntree.lonelyplanet forum also to get a wider exposure to your question.

You can easily leave your pack at the Visitors' Center in a small separate room for a small charge. more
