Weather this weekend

by SfumatoPants Online Now Feb 13, 2013 at 8:32 PM

I'm in Grenoble for a meeting early next week. Can anyone tell me what the conditions are like on the ground in the town, in Grenoble. The weather info says it's around 8 degrees in the daytime but is it more like 0 with wind chill? Are the streets clean of snow? Would you recommend winter clothes or can I get by with my suit and adding a scarf and gloves?

I would certainly recommend winter clothes in February, and i am sure that you already have them if you are coming from Japan.

Drove through Grenoble yesterday. The temperature was around 3C, not including wind chill. There was snow around but it had been cleared from all of the major roads and probably most pavements.

They will keep the streets and sidewalks clean unless there's an absolute blizzard. People need to get around and they are all used to it. Pack those winter woolies. We just wear heavy coats on the plane and then put them in the overhead during the flight. That way you don't have to take up suitcase space for a heavy coat. Wear your heaviest shoes too. Anything that takes up a lot of room in your luggage can be worn onto the plane to save space.

Enjoy Grenoble. It's gorgeous this time of year.
