Myrtle Beach May 2, 2013 at 2:16 AM

Hi 3 friends and myself are heading to Myrtle beach at the end of the month to work. We have a motel confirmed but are trying to find a condo/apartment with cooking facilities etc. Also we are confused about Myrtle Beach and North Myrtle Beach. Which one would be better for j1 students in terms of nightlife,jobs,accommodation....
Is north myrtle beach more of a golf/upclass resort? We are finding it hard to get accommodation in the main myrtle beach area. Any info greatly appreciated.
      Thanks

      we need rentals

Myrtle Beach May 5, 2013 at 6:16 AM

Hello! We are 5 students coming from Romania and we need housing in Myrtle Beach, if possible near Dunes Village Resort/Pine Lakes Country Club because we will work there. Thank you.
I would like to add that we won't make any problems, we will pay our rent/utilities at time. We just want to "work and travel" :)

Where to stay for 1 night?

Myrtle Beach May 4, 2013 at 7:52 AM

On Our Route down to Miami we have planned for an overnight stop at (North) Myrtle Beach. But in fact, finding a place to stay seems to be difficult as we don't really like these gigantic, overcrowded complexes and hidden Gems like B&B's do not seem to exist in this area. Also it might be close to impossible to rent a condo for just 1 night. So Your help would be highly appreciated.

      visiting friends in Greenville, SC

by rkid21 Online Now Nov 29, 2007 at 9:19 AM

Hello everyone! I am planning a trip to Greenville to visit some friends (who recently relocated there), and I am turning to Virtual Tourist for some advice... What is the best time to visit Greenville? I was thinking possibly visiting around Christmas-time. What is the weather like this time of the year? Are there any special activities or events around Christmas-time? Is there anything in particular that Greenville is known for, whether it be a food or authors or artists, ect.? Any great bakeries, pastry shops or sandwich shops you can recommend? Thanks for all the help! I greatly appreciate it! rkid21

Hi- I am certain that you have heard this question many times prior. I am married in my mid 40's with an 8 year old son. We would like some information on Greenville SC. We are thinking of relocating but it's such a big step. I have heard nothing but positive experiences with Greenville so I am putting these questions out to all of you. "What do you like best about Greenville"? "Is it a family town?" "Any flooding", What's the weather like? Humid?, Recommended Communities/towns, Builders, Schools, activities for children 8 and above. What sports do the children play? Thanks much in advance Cheers!

    • Relocating - Not Sure Where

I am from Maine just outside of Portland and would like to relocate to a place that is warmer but still provides access to outdoor activities such as hiking, biking, and kayaking while being affordable. I have done some research on the Greenville, SC area and know that it has many of the qualities that I seek. It's proximity to the mountains and rivers/lakes is a big plus. My biggest concern is being welcome. I would be relocating alone, pretty much starting over. I have read some posts on the web that in parts of the South as a YANKEE I would be tolerated but never really welcome. Would I be better off considering Charlotte, Charleston, or Raleigh since they have populations that are more geographically diverse or is the Greenville area a good choice? Thanks for the advice! Paul
