We are headed to Sedona Dec 28 - Jan 1. I'm not sure what you pack/wear for our day hiking trips. I've read layers, but in particular I'm wondering about pants. Can we wear what we hike in right to a dinner location or is that too casual? Any recommendations?
We are going to spend a couple of weeks in Catalina State Park near Tuscon Arizona in Februaray. We have been there once before, but it was a number of years ago. I am wondering if it is still OK to hang hummingbird feeders and wild bird feeders in our campsite. I checked their campground "rules" list on line, and there is nothing about if you can or can not feed birds when camped there.
Is it safe to hike in the Sedona area by ones self?
Is it safe during the day to walk from hotels and shopping/dinning/gallery areas by ones self?
Is it safe in Sedona area to take a taxi during the day or early evening when traveling by ones self?
Any other tips great tips are greatly appreciated.
We will be traveling to the south rim around the 25th of December. We will be coming from Los Angeles and heading towards Santa Fe in a rental car. We are concerned about driving a rental car through snowy mountain roads. Are you aware if snow chains would be required?
Hello, my family & I will be driving from Vegas to the South Rim on Thanksgiving day this year & will be staying at Yavaipa lodge inside the park for the night. We planned on leaving vegas early so as to arrive at the canyon in the afternoon to enjoy the rest of the day there. My kids are between 6-13 & I will also have my parents with me, thus would like to know which hike or places we can visit that is easily accessable. Also is there any good dining recommendation for thanksgiving dinner aside for El Tovar? I heard it's good there but can be pricey giving our large family. The plan is for us to get up early to catch the sunrise the next morning, doing more sightseeing around the area then head back to vegas to spend the night there before heading back to LA on saturday. Also is there anything to do at night in the park after sunset? I heard it can be really dark there. The trip to the canyon is rather short thus any tips to see the best points with our limited time there is greatly appreciated!
we want to go see "the wave" in the paria canyons and we're keeping our fingers crossed that we win the online lottery permit.... granting that we get got lucky and got a permit, can you suggest an itinerary for a 3-day trip?
here are the places we want to see:
the wave (if we get the permit)
antelope canyon (a must..we'll be going to both lower & upper)
are those listed above logistically feasible for a 3 whole day trip?
thanks in advance!
My husband and I have been told that Green Valley is the place for us....taking into account our likes and dislikes. We are looking into moving in a year or so and would like to have some input on the area of Grren Valley. We have two small children and don't like a busy tourist filled area. Any input on if Green Valley would be right for us or not would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
