    • On my last day in Tunis, my flight will depart at 15.35. Is it possible to visit Dougga?

      Tunis May 16, 2013 at 9:27 AM

I have my last day in Tunis, but my flight will depart from Tunis at 15.35, so can I have a-few-hour visit in Dougga (depart from Tunis by louage then taxt and must come back to Tunis city center around 12.30 before heading to the airport)?

One more question, on my first day, I will arrive Tunis about noon (12.00), so is the rest of the day enough to visit all tourist attractions in Tunis such as medina, museum, etc (not including surburb like carthage or sidi bou said which I plan to go on the next day)?

    • Is there a luggage locker service in Sousse train station?

      Sousse Apr 30, 2013 at 8:42 AM

I will take a two-day Sahara tour departing from Sousse and arriving the same place. Once arrving at night, I will take a train to Tunis. So, I would like to leave my luggage at Sousse Train Station for two days before the Sahara trip because I don't want to carry it to the desert. Is anyone know whether there is any luggage service at the train station?

Two more questions about public transportation, how can I find a route map of mini trains in Sousse and Port El Kantaoui? I don't know if the minitrains pass my hotel. And, is there public bus service in Sousse, or only taxi?

    • is it safe for a female and teenage daughter travelling alone

      Tunisia Apr 23, 2013 at 2:49 AM

I'm considering booking a week in Tunisia the end of June for myself and my daughter. we are both blonde and I look quite young so we often get mistaken for sisters. I'm slightly concerned about our personal safety, the advice on the internet is fairly vague. I had the same concerns when we went to Turkey last year but my fears were unfounded and I'm hoping this will be the same type of situation. any advice would be appreciated

      Emergency sun screen etc

      Monastir May 9, 2012 at 1:31 AM

I am only taking cabin luggage on my week's trip to Monastir and I think I may have trouble with UK customs if I try to put too much liquid (sun lotion, shampoo, toothpaste, deodorant, mozzie spray etc) into my little plastic bag. Is there a no-hassel fixed price European type shop in Monastir where I can buy these things on arrival?

My husband and I are staying at the Sahara Beach Hotel next week a short holiday. (4 days) What are the best bargains to look for in the markets and what sort of price can I expect to pay for them? Is there anything that you wish you had brought back with you, but didn't? Also, what is a typical Tunisian dish?

It is my boyfriends 18th birthday on Sunday so I have arranged a surprise holiday to Tunisia...and we go on Wednesday the 14th June. However he doesnt know and therefore we cannot sort out exchanging money until This monday!!! I've heard that you cannot take Tunisian money into the country and therefore need to know how long it would take to get £300 of travellers cheques or if it would be easier to take English money and exchange it over there. Any comments on your trips to Tunisia would be great as well as its my first time there xx

    • Trips from Skanes/Monastir

      Monastir Mar 15, 2005 at 4:57 PM

Hello, I am going to Tunisia in a couple of weeks with my family and we will be staying in a hotel in Skanes which I believe is close to Monastir. Does anyone have any knowledge or advice about trips we could undertake from there? Having stayed in exactly the same hotel once before and stayed around Monastir/Sousse, we are eager to explore a lot further this time, but unfortunately a couple of members of the family can't be persuaded to stay anywhere else! Any help would be much appreciated. Thank you in advance.

      Monastir Apr 9, 2004 at 9:40 AM

Hi, In two weeks my friend and I are going to be staying in the Hotel Thalassa, Skanes, Monisir for a week. We're slightly concerned about getting hassled by blokes when going out and wondered if anyone has any experience/tips that might help us to avoid this. We've been told different things by different people so far, some say that as long as you cover up (don't draw too much attention) you get left alone, whilst others have said that women alone often get seriously sexually assaulted! Please advise if you can... Thankyou, Jess and Chantel
