Is this also known as the seamans cemetary? If so are there British seamen buried there.
I doubt it very much as it is an ancient Muslim cemetary.

I agree with the previous answer. I don't know if the name (in French) "cimetière marin" is correctly translated by "seamen cemetary". It would be better "seaside cemetary" and actually, it is surrounded by the sea on threee sides ! It has been the cemetary for inhabitants of Mahdia for centuries, most of them beeing fishermen. If there were British seamen, they would be buried in a separate cemetary, for Christians. I don't know if there is any in Mahdia.
