I'll be arriving by rental car. I am looking for moderately priced hotels either in central city within walking distance of the major sights or somewhat outside the city with a nice view.
There are countless hotels in and around Gatlenburg. Pigion Forge about 10 miles away is wall to wall discount hotels. You might try Hotwire before you go and see if any of their hotels meet your price needs. I find that hotwire's hotels with 2 and 1/2 stars and above are always pretty good but have had success with their 2 stars also. go to Hotwire.com
