June is the start of our winter. The temperature max about low to middle 20c. The evenings can go down to about 8c. You will not have to bring any thermals. Hope this helps.

Don't know where you come from as its not on your profile page, but there's a saying on the Gold/Sunshine coast - if you see a tourist rugged up and shivering in the 20 degree temps they are Queenslanders. If they are in long pants and long sleeved shirts they are from New South Wales. Shorts and tee shirts - Victoria and finally in swimming, they are from Tasmania. OK you could swim depending on where you come from and how much you feel the "cold" - LOL. Thermal etc - forget it.

I LOL'd at your reply David. You are spot on with your description. Every second person you speak to in Queensland over winter is a Tasmanian. There are more Tasmanians in Queensland during winter than Queenslanders!!!! To the original poster: Its hard to predict the weather. It can be rainy in June but wont be COLD. Most days you will be able to wear short sleeved clothing but a jacket will be needed in the evening.

It depends on how sensitive you are to the cold. If you are coming from a country where it is always warm (e.g. Singapore), then, you are most definitely going to feel cold! Whether you need to bring thermals or winter coats will be up to you. I suggest wearing layers, so, if it gets simply too warm, you can take a layer off. In the worse case scenario, you can always buy extra clothes when you arrive.
