Hi, I'll be travelling to Gold Coast in June with two young kids. Hope to get some advice to plan my itinerary.... I have four full days to spend in Gold Coast, tentative itinerary as follows: Day 1: Tangalooma Full Day Tour Day 2: Movie World Day 3: Sea World Day 4: Trying to decide between Dream World and Paradise Country/Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary... 1>Is it worth going/spending on the Tangalooma Full day tour? I expect long journey to & fro, and also dolphin feeding not guaranteed? 2>Dream World looks attractive, though most rides might not be suitable for young kids....Is the Wild Life experience comparable to Paradise country or Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary? Between Paradise country and Currumbin, which is better? 3>We are considering the Gold Pass with theme parks transfer and unlimited local bus network...Is the local bus very crowded on weekdays? Concern that young kids might not be able to stand for long journey... Thank you very much...
Not knowing where you are from makes this a bit difficult. However, Have you considered 1 night in Brisbane to facilitate the Tangalooma tour. It would certainly make it easier. Also consider that the dolphin feeding is in the evening, so you would not get back to Brisbane till at least around 8pm. You could also consider one night at Tangalooma to make it easier all round.

Gosh, you don't live anywhere and you weren't born. Who are we addressing here? Shame you haven't got time for something more relaxing like Mount Tambourine or Lamington National Park. Cheers

Hi stevemt, Thanks for your suggestion..... No, we didn't plan to stay in Brisbane or Tangalooma because with young kids, it seems more convenient to stay at one place throughout the trip. Understand your point,so I'm still undecided about the Tangalooma day tour. We have four full days in Gold Coast, so can only choose one day tour if we are going for the three theme parks....We plan to get the National VIP Pass, so will definitely go to Movie World and Sea World, not sure whether to skip Dream World and visit Paradise Country or Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary instead... Appreciate your advice..Thanks..

Hi iandsmith, Haha, sorry...registered in a rush so did not update profile... Four days for Gold Coast is really insufficient...quite reluctant to miss the chance to visit Dream World, so can only choose one day tour. Tamborine mountain is actually my second choice if not going for the Tangalooma tour... Thanks for your suggestion...

I sounds like you are more interested in theme parks so I would give Tangalooma a miss. It is a great place to visit but a very full day and best approached from Brisbane.

I used to be a tour guide on the gold coast for japanese, so i was unaware tangalooma did day trips for non Japanese.(where are you from?) I used to pick everyone up at there hotels from 7-8 am and not get home till 11pm. It really is a wonderful tour. The Japanese really loved it, but it is a long day. seaworld and movieworld also perfect for young ones and i love currumbin bird sanctuary. please let us know where you are from and i can help you even more!

Hi al2401, Thanks for your reply...I think my kids will prefer theme parks :> It's difficult to choose from the three "Worlds", but since the National VIP pass covers Movie World and Sea World, I'm still trying to decide whether to give Dream World a miss and spend a day enjoying the scenery...

Hi heidstar, Thanks for the offer... I'm from Singapore...Hmmm, 7am to 11pm seems a long day for young kids.... Sea World and Movie World are on my confirmed list...Now trying to decide on a scenic day tour, and also a place for my kids to see the koalas, kangaroos... Which is a better choice? Paradise Country or Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary? I would think the wild life reserve in Dream World is not as interesting as Paradise country and Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary right? (trying to convince myself to give Dream World a miss :>) Hope to hear from you soon.. Thanks a lot!

Hi Trish - the best place for scenery on the Gold Coast is the hinterland. Lamington Plateau and Mt Tambourine have a lot to offer as have already been suggested.

AS I SAID I "USED"TO BE A TOUR GUIDE!!!!OPERATING FROM THE GOLD COAST.TOURING JAPANESE AND THEIR KIDS. IT WAS A WONDERFUL TOUR, IN 5 YEARS, ONLY ONCE THE DOLPHINS NEVER CAME!!! BUT IS UP TO YOU WHETHER YOUR KIDS WOULD LIKE TO GO HERE OR NOT!!A CHANCE TO FEED A DOLPHIN IS A UNIQUE OPPORTUNITY, BUT ALL UP TO YOU!! I LOVE CURRUMBIN BIRD SANCTUARY!!!BUT THATS THE BEST PLACE TO CUDDLE A KOALA AND SEE THE AUSTRALIAN ANIMALS...
